I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT and wanting to know if anyone could help me out on what I can do to upgrade it. It has everything stock on it now. I'm mostly looking to add some horsepower and handling. I am new to tuning cars and don't actually know that much about it. I am a college student so I have a limited budget. I'm mostly looking for something that I can do to make this a project car. Thanks

The Eclipse GT has a V6, if I'm right. (The memory is shot. I'm old. I can't help it.) There is some stuff for it, but you have to go online to find them. Buying all that you want little by little is cool. Try a CAI, (cold air intake), first. That opens it up a bit. Not by much, though. Next, I would upgrade rotors and pads for your brakes. Slotted and dimpled rotors and ceramic pads. Shop around to see who has them for your ride. After that, save up for a cat back exhaust system. That'll open it some more, again, not by alot, though. There will be a change in performance, just not the monstrous changes you would get from rebuilding the engine and drive train to match. The V6 that the Eclipse comes with is actually pretty peppy. It's a kick in the pants in stock trim. Visual accessories are all up to you, unfortunately. That's a blank canvass and you are the artist. I hope I've helped in some way. As far as doing what I've mentioned in that order... you don't have to. Do what you can do when you can do it. There isn't any real order in which to start a project be it small or not. Just remember to put a little common sense into it and things will fall into place. Cool?

How you drive is your buisness. Remember that you're not the only one on the road!
Educate, don't hate.
