An s10 engine...? WHy not go all out and do an LS1. Sheesh! For the amount of work it's going to take to swap that porker of an S10 engine into the bay of the Cavalier, you may as well. I've never been impressed with the S10 engine that chevy dropped into that pick up. It was a leaky bucket of metal with no real potential. I'm not ragging the idea of swapping a bigger engine, just the choice of engine. Dude, tell him if they've crammed LS1 engines into Mazda Miata, why not do the same with the Cavalier. It's just as much work and all he has to do is research it a bit with a body shop. an S10 engine... what next? hehe!

So what S-10 engine are you talking about. I guess the first poster has no idea they used a 1.9L-2.0L-2.2L-2.5L-2.8L, and the 4.3L in the S-10.

The 4.3 was a half way descent engine, but it didn't much impress me in the longevity department. Maybe it was just the amount of care, or lack there of, in some of the ones that I saw. Either way, I would go way big in a project like that. That's all I'm saying.
