Just wanted to show some pics of my ride, Daily driven, 201whp 223wtq Escort GT.
Power: Stock Mazda BP(80k Orig when boosted) with JDM Mazda Familia BPT Turbo setup (Manifold, Turbo, ECU, Injectors) installed. Jacobs Omni-Pak Ignition (works well, came with car) For comparison the Stock turbo is an IHI VJ20, barely bigger than a DSM 14b if at all.
Run it on 12psi all day, and torquey as hell. Car weighs ~2300lbs
Also Has a Corksport Stainless Downpipe, 2.5" Mandrel bent Exhaust, Thrush muffler with a piece of 2.5" pipe which I cut @ a 15* angle for a stock look.
Charge piping is 2.5", TurboXS RFL BOV, HKS "Shroom" Filter, 27" x 5.5" x 2.5" FMIC Painted black for stealthy looks.
Drivetrain: Stock transmission, Spec Stage 3+ Clutch disc with ACT HD Pressure plate, Stock Flywheel. B&M Short throw shifter
Suspension: KYB GR2 Struts, Dropzone Coilovers with 300f/450r Spring rates, Suspension Techniques front and rear sway bars (Front is an add-on, retains OEM bar)
Interior: Momo Wheel, Protege Center console, MX6 Leather shift boot, Protege5 Shift knob, Boost gauge hidden inside console.
Exterior: Original 20yr old paint, Gold Drag DR21s 15x7.
On to the pics! (A little big, sorry)

Plenty more pics too, but thats all for now, Let me know what you guys think.

Sorry, dude. This is the first time I've seen this thread. My bad! I have to admit that it makes sense to use a Mazda engine since the engine Ford used in most of the line was a poor excuse for an engine. The choice in engines you made is good and it is a clean swap. I also have to admit that the ride is very clean and extremely respectable. Much props, bro. I love it. It pays to have Ford and mazda together. Just in case you didn't know, though, Ford owns Mazda. That was just a bit of info in case you didn't know. They also own Volvo... That's another story, though. Love the swap and the ride. You have an eye for making it look good, bro. No jokes! I noticed that you're from Ct. I'm in Ct. as well. In Seymour, to be exact. It's good to know I'm not the only one from Ct. on this site.

Thanks man, good to see another CT guy here too.. And of course I knew Ford/Mazda were in bed together, have been since the 80s! The entire chassis of the Escorts from 91-03 is Mazda made, Ford only did the exterior panels and their Craptastic 88hp 1.9 in the LX models. The GT was essentially a 90-94 protege in all aspects, including the Mazda BP Stock.
Appreciate the feedback, and this summer will be crazy for the car too. Looking to add another 100hp, MFactory Diff, Ksports, and 5 lug and it'll be done... should make for a nice low 12/high 11 sec pass too.

Nothing wrong with that, my peoples. In short, we build and ride what we like. Bad oppinions are a dime a dozen and you can only take that kind of oppinion with a grain of salt. Or, build on it and make things even better. That's all you can do! Any way, I love what you've done so far. I hope to see you on the streets some day. I love to meet new people. especially the ones from this site. We're a special breed of people. Don't you think?

Other useful piece of trivia... Did you know that in australia the model of escort you have is called a laser & that the tx4 model comes stock from the factory with a bp-t & awd? Check it out online it runs 14s stock!!!
Nothing smells better than that new car scent... Except maybe for ***

Why is it that every one else in the world gets some models in AWD an we get the shaft, so to speak. I've only seen one All Trac Camry and it was a JDM model. Isn't the Nissan Maxima an AWD in Japan? I could be mistaken about the Maxima, but we never see those types of rides in the U.S. What gives? I heard that there was an All Trac MR2? I never seen it, but it has to exsist some where! That bites! (I'm not really angry or any thing like that, but I do have a legit concern about that)

Do what 91EscortGT did. Swap in a Mazda engine. Essentially, it's what Ford did with the newer versions of the Escort, except that you'll be doing it with the older version. I think it bolts right in with trans and all. I could be mistaken, but the only thing I could see giving you a small headache would be the mounts. Certainly, the wiring would be a nother concern, but it's nothing that a good schematic and a bit of patience could fix. I would talk with 91EscortGT and se what it is he did to swap his in. His is really clean and it must have a good kick when he accelerates. Better than a 88hp whine! LOL!
