First, I hope you've been practicing on obtaining some drifting skills. It's not some thing you just up and do. A novice drifter will not have much drifting time due to all the things that will wear out from the actual drifting... it gets REAL expensive. You will wear out a clucth, a transmission, tires, suspension components an engine if not properly tuned to drift, brakes due to not knowing how to use the accelerator pedal and your sway as a tool...It takes skills, my brother, skills. Even with skills a pro will damage some things. Check out some of the videos on drifting events and you'll see what I mean. They're all over UTube and stuff. Second, if you're stuck on this, you have to have coin to support this sport. Just having the car and some extra parts is not enough. Weekend warriors will spend hundreds if not thousands just to have a weekend of fun. Pros will spend what we make in two years doing the same thing... I exagerate, but it is expensive. They do spend waaaaaay more than I'm willing to spend just for a weekend of fun. They have the coin, though, why not. I'm not trying to kill your dreams, but keep your goals planted on the ground till you gain some drifting experience and a feel for the sport. I know you're a novice due to the way you asked for advice. Learn it before you burn it, bro. I have some catchy catch phrases. LOL!

many good catch phrases,lol
a simple greddy turbo kit($1.5k), and by replacing some of the bolts($10) and the turbo manifold($200-$500) should get you up and running.(expect 140-160whp and that's at 5-6psi)
that should get you up and running. Tires ($200+ per set) - This will wear out like wild fire. Tune-up ($30-$70) - Maintenance is the key to a long lasting engine Suspension ($20-$150+) - tie rod ends, wheel bearings, and even struts break. Brakes ($30-$60) - you'll be using that e-brake most of the time until learn w/o it. Painting or body fix after crash ($400-$1000+) - there will be parts thrown here and there.
Just don't trash your car and send it to the scrap yard, people.
although, i love drifters, i really hate people who trash the cars and send them to the smasher.(ex: blown engine... to the smasher)
your pretty much ending the numbers of that model, soon they will all be gone or limited numbers.
Expect a budget of about ($500-$750) monthly. That's 3/4 of your paycheck *evil Laugh*. Just please keep maintenance on it.

Tires for 200 dollars a set? where do you shop? LOL! I guess you could get a cheap set, used, to drift. They will get burned up any way, may as well use them to their fullest, right? LOL! I don't know so please tease me if I need a good lesson.

its best to pull used *** from the bone yard whenever possible, as far as mods all you need is a locking L.S.D (limited slip differential) and a better clutch, better brake pads (not to mention back ups of all i list exept the lsd wich just requires rebuilding once or twice a year) all other performance mods will come after you get better at it. also watch keiichii tsuchiya's drift bible it realy teaches you alot he is arguably the best after all

Amen, I second that comment. The dude has mad skills in the drift. I seen a few clips of the guy drifting... it's like breathing to him... he makes it look soooo easy. What I wouldn't do to be his steering wheel... I jest, but it would be cool!

well $260 for 195/55 15" set.
Used to work at a tire shop and i owned a integra at that time( 3rd gen, LS)
Would be cheaper depending on the quality of the tire.
Temperature rating, tread wear rating, size and brand.
While there, i was trying to make a theory on what specs to get, to not get tires that begin to crack(have like stretch marks).
could just think of Temp. rating of A or AA. Tread wear Rating of what was it...300...500.
well it's been quite a long time now.
although the size 14", which miata should have cost lower then $200( Set).
and yup, Drift King is awesome.
any of you kept up to the "Project D" (continuation of Drift Bible)

I agree. For what new tires cost... I wouldn't even consider it. I looked around the scrap yards to find beater tires for my Rav4 just to see if I can get it side ways and control it a bit. Story short, I failed miserably. I kept it safe, though I cracked my windshield in the attempt. My friend has a lot of property up North from me and I rallied a bit with my Rav. Again, I failed miserably. It's tough getting old and not doing it as often as I like!
It was fun, though...
