Wow, I just looked at your ages and I really like the enthusiasm, but you guys are too young to really handle a suped up car on your own. Especially, just starting out. Get a decent car, learn the rules of the road, "FIRST". Too many young people die each year due to inexperience. Ifyou want to go fast... go to a race track that has lessons and gain all the other types of experience that comes with racing that way. The good thing to my advice is that you won't lose out at all on driving time. My nephew got behind the wheel of my friends Mustang GT500 and almost crashed the thing. He's been behind the wheel sice he was 14 along side of me and though he drives well... You see what happened. I say this because I care, not just to be a pain or a nay sayer. I just want this thing we all crave and desire to go on for ever. Young poeple and fast cars are like a drunk behind the wheel. I mean no offense by saying that. I only want what's best for you guys. That's all. Good choice in cars, though. Find what fits your personality and save up for it. I like the Skyline...

I can absolutely respect that. I love that 2JZ engine as well. I was planning to do an engine swap on my Rav4 with that particular engine before the economy tanked. It's Toyotas finest engine. Nissans is the Rb26det, as you well know. That engine is calling out to my old school 1987 Nissan 200sx, s12. Once things get better with the coin, I'm going to get on my projects, full force. Well, maybe not full force, but you know what I mean.

Just remember to go slow and learn as much about the engines as you can. You have all the time in the world and see if your parents will encourage you a bit with some monitary help. Going to school, work and building your own car would be a good way to get my attention as a parent.

Very cool. I'm glad that your head is on the right way. Concentrate on school and learn a trade that makes real money so that your love of cars and racing aren't hindered. I wish I did what my parents wanted me to *** Wait, I didn't have my parents, which is why I'm doing ok and not great. I can't complain, though. At least I'm keeping up with my bills. Good luck in school.

It breaks the heart when some thing of such a caliber calls out to us and the economy forbids its purchase. I dream of a day when we both can get what we want when we want it. I feel your pain, brother, I feel your pain... I had to get a little poetic and share in the thespianistic realm of my personality. LOL! Dang! I have to chill with the wordage, I'm even losing my self on that! LOL! Is thespianistic even a real word? The word thespian is, bu how about the way I put it?

kinda a ways after the original posts but s12 is right, learn to drive first. ive been driving since i was about 5(family business related) and still i got behind the wheel of a 400hp 69 camaro and damn... i know how to drive but still, launching that thing and having it slide out sideways was pretty scary... fun... but scary. i've seen first hand some people who have had to fast of vehicle get in some pretty major accidents and it sure opens your eyes

Yeah I'm glad my first car was a tamed 88' Z24. I'm a very safe driver now, but no first car should be a powerful performance car.

My brothers first car was a Pontiac Firebird pushing 450hp to the wheels. He got on the through way, stomped on it and lost control of it. As he began to spin side ways, back end towards the left, an 18 wheeler ran over the passengers portion of the car and creamed it to smitherines. I was following in another car when it happened. He got out of it ok, but he was never the same after that. He was 16 and his dad was feeling quite guilty for getting such a car for him. I sound a little confusing on this story about my brother and his dad. His dad adopted me when I was 16 and cared for me till I was 18. I knew the family since I was a kid and they felt for me when I was growing up. I had it rough, but they were there for me when ever they could be. He's passed away now, but I still have extreme love for the family due to their generosity towards me. Any way, my brother learned his lesson with HP that day.
