S12 nobody swaps KA heads, there is no replacement for it other then a KA head. There are minor difference from the S13 S14 and truck heads for the KA24DE. However people do build them. Port & Polish, Valve job, lifters, seats, valves, retainers, etc. Brian Crowler makes a lot for the KADE. But no replacements.
But if you to make 300-400 RWHP you can do it with a KA and it can still be reliable. Engine build would run about 4K plus the boost items.

I'm only going by what I've seen in Puerto Rico. The KA heads are removed and a new head is milled for the purpose. In P.R., where there's a need, make it. I know about all the stuff for the KA here on the main land, but I prefer the crazyness that goes on in P.R. People do the wackyest builds and have great success with their inventions. That's why when the P.R. vs U.S. races happen at Atco Race Way, P.R. race cars give every one a run for their money and in many cases dominate. I'm not taking away from what you know, bro, because you are right. I just feel that there is better out there and I share that info so that people create instead of sticking with what's out there and done all ready. That's all. I prefer to think out side the box, some times. Even if it means swapping out and rethinking the norm. Never stick with the norm. Create and innovate... My motto. LOL! One of many...

PR vs US races at atco.... not an event... I would know as well considering my uncles owns Atco.
However there are a lot of Spanish people of Puerto Rican decent who race atco. Most of the time in over powered Honda's who spin wheels for a good 1-1.5 second because they try to launch at 5-9K or they run open header rotaries that are slower then hell. I just wouldn't say it's an event, but there are teams of all ethnic background.
However there are some crazy American who happen to be Puerto Rican and own a shop Import DPS. They are the guys with the 7second KA-T S13 drag car. Very good at what they do, and will be helping me when I boost the LS6.

It's either Atco or English Town... one of those tracks in N.J. I've seen it advertised on line at... I forget the site... How convenient of me to forget. Dang! It'll come to me as I write, bro. LOL! I had an opportunity to go to an event and my coin went to a new refrigerator. I missed the chance to go see. Any way, it does happen twice a year, to my understanding. I still can't remember, but I'll add to this thread once I fish around for the site. Sorry about the lapse in memory.
I found out what track, he he. Race Way Park. What a mess I made, huh? Any way, here's a link to a clip of a race that happened there. I'm not sure if it was recent or not, but here is the link. www.youtube.com/?v=dH0fw_-CEXU Or visit utube and find "PR vs US" on their search bar. Have fun! Brother! I'm adding to this, cause I found pics of a PR vs US event at Atco. Again, I don't know if it was recent. Go to www.division1.org. You'll find the fastest Tercel from "Gringo Racing" belonging to Mike Improta, my hero by the way, and a few colaboratives in that realm of racers. I'll keep digging. Found another event that happened on July 19 of this year... bro, it happened at Atco. Pan American event, Team PR vs... The event was on the Atco race schedule... on their site. I don't want to sound messed up, bro, but I am right. My mind may be going out slowly, but there are things I still remember. LOL! I still think you're all right, bro. You are still my peoples. Much love! The Puerto Rican techs that are going to set up your ride can verify my claims as to the crazy stuff that goes on on the Island, bro. You don't have to take it from me. If they can't, they need to visit the Island more often. Much love, though. I still would like to see your finished product. I stick with you, because you are my kind of peoples. Dig? LOL! Again, much love and luck for your project.
