just as the topic says I am a first time honda owner. First time anything owner. I bought a 94 civic Dx from a private seller not knowing what I was getting myself into. The car has a D16z6 engine and the seller told me it was a frankenstein conversion. The VTEC doesnot work properly and I constantly have to fill up with water. There is no catalytic converter so I am throwing all kinds of smoke white, blue etc. The car has DC headers Apexi exhaust and tein suspension. How do I go about making this a JDM? I have seen plenty of those and know that this is the look for me. I am trying to do all the research but its getting me all confused! B18C1, K20A2, B16A and so on .... I want to build a car that will be street legal but am lost when it comes to the right motor/transmission. Please help by giving me some advice on what I should look into and what I should stay away from.

Ok do people just not read forums anymore or something? I have been to six honda civic forums trying to get help on this issue. Can anyone spare some advice?

well bro it depends on your resources, if you got the money go with the k20 or a b18, sounds like that d-series is a lost cause. (is this your first build?)

Yes a friend of mine recomended the B16 but im not sure if the B18b would be a better platform. I would like to add a turbo but I also want a street legal car is the B18/ B16b street legal in us or are they JDM illegals?
