Some times the things that come up in conversations makes me wonder about how well educated or well informed some of the people I talk to really are. I was having a discussion with one of my co-workers about his mis understanding about the differences that are in Socialism and Communism when the ugly subject of slavery came to the front. It didn't start with me, but some how it just came up out of the co-workers mouth. Any way, he said that slavery was practiced in Africa way before white man came to the scene. I blinked a bit and asked him if he was sure of what he was saying. He said, "YES", he was sure. I shook my head a bit and began to give him a slight history lesson on what indentured servidude and slavery was. Africans did practice a form of slavery, but it was temporary, which meant that it was called indentured servitude. A person who owed moneys or services would trade his/her services or him/her self for a set period of time until the debt was paid. Some times it was for 2 years or up to 5 years. Slavery, on the other hand, was permanent and the individual that was a slave had no freedoms or choices as opposed to the one in indentured servitude. As with any of the conversations and topics that are in my mental library, I always say to the person that if they are in doubt about what I say that they should educate them selves and go to the library and see if I'm wrong about the topic. I read a lot of subjects and History is one of my favs as well as the subject of cars. LOL! If you are wondering about the difference between Socialism and Communism, people Socialist countries can own shops, have savings accounts and spend money to their hearts content. Taxes are higher than in most countries, but those taxes go to paying thier health care and other such stuff. With Communism there is none of those freedoms associated with a democracy. Socialism is still democratic where Communism is not. You give your soul to the communist life. Every thing you have belongs to the Communist power. YOU belong to the Communist power... Your children belong to the Communist power... If I had a choice between the two, I would rather be Socialist. Any way, I 'm not in any of those countries so it's improbable for me to be that. I was born American and I like that very much.
I thought I would share that with you guys since we all here are more educated than most. LOL! I kid about that, but we are a very smart crowd on this forum.

I would rather democratic.
And I have so many of those, 'cept my conversations that turn random almost always go off on a tangent because someone says "thats what she said". Like Ill be in school for instance and we'll be talking about like math or whatever and someone will say after a quiz "wasnt that hard?" and someone will almost always say "Thats what she said as a reply to that LOL

As long as you are the brightest of the group, it's all good! LOL! At least you have respect and understanding with us, bro. We wouldn't do that to you... much. LOL! Just kidding!
