How do you start becoming a professional drifter or street racer, and where do you get that kind of start up money for a nice car and all of its parts. im a very good driver and can drift well, but im stuck in a modded 2002 mustang because i cant afford to get anything better or parts

Get yourself noticed. Attend driving schools and track events and actually do well in them. You may think you're good now, but when you start playing with the big dogs, your ego goes down the drain. Make due with what you have and have fun with it or save up your pennies and get a better car.

Jimichanga is right about that. It is expensive, though, and any car you get will need to be built regardless. The Mustang you have is a great starting car and parts are plentifull for it. A 5.4liter monster Ford engine swap could be just the medicine you need, but it's not cheap. It's all about the coin and how much of a car you want on the track. In the end, it always about the coin.

Well, I know its not what you probably want to do, but if you put a little work into it, go to scrap/junk yards and find a mustang that had an accident in the rear and was totaled. Take the engine out of that and swap it into yours. I know someone who did that on a civic with a V6 supra engine. Seen it on craigslist the other day. Find a totaled one and swap.
