Hi guys, and greetings from Scotland. I'd like to add my opinion to this, since I'm getting old and mellowing a *** First off, I'm a definite Japanese car fan. I'm on my 2nd GC8 Impreza WRX, had a few 180SXs etc.

What I'd like to say is, there's little point in comparing the Japanese cars to the American domestic models, unless its on a like-for-like basis. I think this arguement stems from a basic human need to divide classes of people and opinion. Far as I'm concerned, the Subarus do it for me. On the other hand, I utterly love the classic American muscle cars, especially when properly restored. They're beautiful and sound amazing. Point is - find something you like, tune it, personalise it into some kind of expression of yourself, and embrace the community its relevant to - its always cool to find like-minded people, but its not doing anyone any favours starting some kind of verbal war with the opposite number. *** cars can be tuned and accessorised, so can the Americans. Its wildly different in how its done and applied, but in the end - we're all aiming for the same goal.

Although - Mine's to beat my mate's Evo-IV - *** Mitsubishi drivers!!

Hey now, we've got room for all cars.  As long as they're fast!  I've had both big V8 American cars and 4cyl import cars, and they've both got pros and cons.  Currently I race a 4cyl Mitsubishi and love it.  I do still miss my Corvette though.  Here's to horsepower!

I'm glad to see many people here respect both sides of the fence

I prefer the imports, just love AWD V6 Twin Turbo too much. That said, I am extremely jealous of my brother's 70' Challenger's engine bay, it's just 150 times easier to work on his car :-\

I like that as well, but... and I mean a big "BUT", this thread is not being monitored by the original poster. I haven't seen hide nor hair of this cat since joining. I think it's pointless to argue about Domestics vs. imports. You build what you like and no one can say other wise about your taste. Right?

ok first off everybody here is right ok yeah v-8s are getting old and yeah somtimes tuners go overboard and their cars look retarded but anyone of you should know that if you know anything or care about cars at all its that everyone has an opinoin but a true car lover should be able to find somthing good about any car may it be some jetta or honda vs. a plymouth or ford...BOTH are powerful and cool to someone...so tuner/import lovers and muscle car lovers knock it off and grow up!

Why debate it on the internet?  Why not just race?  I don't care if you own a Yugo or a Chevy.  If it's fast it's cool.  An us vs them attitude from either side is just plain stupid.

If it were just as easy as that, bro... There are still too many narow minded people out there that think with their "brand" instead of the fun it all is. I agree, it's all about the fun of going fast with what you have. On track, of course. LOL!
I remember you, bro. I saw pics of your ride and stuff. How has the beast been doing? I hope good. I was very impressed with all the work put into your ride. It sounded very monstrous.

I've seen import sites bag on domestics and domestic sites bag on imports.  I say shut up and race!

The car has been running consistent ten teens on a 175 shot.  I'm finishing up a 427 small block I started a couple years ago.  Hope to have it going in September.  Shooting for 9's on the motor and a little quicker with some juice.

Thanks

Here we go... LOL! It's all good, bro. Remember that we build and run what we like. Hemi engines are really nice, too, but what matters is the results when you're on the track. Steve69 has been working diligently on his ride for a while and I for one can not see any thing bad about the results he has. Hemi or not, it's all good. I remember when some folks ragged on the skyline and it beat a lot of the MOPAR rides on track durring test runs. I wouldn't put too much on saying what's "better than" or what's more "powerful than". It's more to do about the time and love that one puts into their ride that makes it monstrous/cool/covetable. That and some skill behind the wheel as well. LOL! It's all good.
Hey Steve69, I'm glad things are doing very well for you. I hope to see more clips of the monster on track. I love the old school muscle cars ripping down the track. It's a beautiful thing to see. I, for one, have become one of your fans. Keep up the good work.
