As of right now I just ran a standard OBD Diagnostics test on my grand am and I had 2 code readouts, Cataliyst(Bank 1) below efficincy threshold and Cyl. 2 Misfire. I was wondering how much it would cost to get the problems fixed. (just an estimate based on information and common problems with GM)

Catalyst below threshhold means a new cat on that bank. The cylinder 2 misfire could be a wire, spark plug or a coil on plug. If your ride has a coil pack, you may have to replace the whole pack. Depending on what car you have it may be one of those things to replace. As far as price is concerned, you would have to shop around and get a decent price on parts. A cat can be found for less than $100.00, but it's a universal fit and would require some handy welding and/or cutting. The coils, plug or coil pack, depending on the car you have, would more than likely be a dealer thing. Especialy if it's a coild pack or coil on plug. Nothing beats the oe parts from the manufacturer. A plug is found any where. I hope it helps.

I really appreciate the help. As soon as I found out the problem of the misfire, the valve cover was leaking onto the spark plugs and got into the cylinder, i got into an accident and my grand am was totaled. I was t-boned by a speeding truck and insurance didnt pay out. But all in good terms I ended up saving enough money and got into a 02 grand am gt.But thanks again.
