Am new to turners but it really yank me in! right now i drive a VW golf GL with a 1.9 turbo diesel. The new diesel they came out with blow my header so am right now fixing it.  But my question is what type of engine should I be working on to swap into it because the engine after I fix it will only have about 150k left in her so about 2-3 years I do love my golf and am not much of a fan of Honda Civic.     What Should I try to start rebuilding  the VW 2.8 L VR6 engine or is there a better one out there? Dont care if its a vw engine just want a nice engine that will fit Please help am new at this stuff and this is more or less my starter car to play with and learn thanks.

PS
It’s a
1995 golf vw
1.9L diesel engine

If you have any more questions on it just ask me! and please tell me what the engines are if they are for more difters or drags or 10sec cars casue i would love to hear about them all but mostly just a mean street car i want. money not really big thing.
and i would like one that is easy to get parts for i live in canada, alberta.

thanks

A friend of mine has a VR6.  Very interesting motor with a decent aftermarket.
