Okay, after looking I just now realized that the biggest stock engine in a 240sx is a 4 cylinder. How in the world is that going to come anywhere close to some of the other cars?  (From what I reasearched it puts approx 160 hp) and stock in a camaro, mustang or or other sport/muscle like that with a v8 puts out approx 300-350 hp.  So is there any other imports with bigger engines or is the 240sx like someone else was talking about and is a lot lighter so the power to weight ratio comes into play with the two cars? (Again, I am just trying to learn and decide on my first car) Also, I have been looking on craigslist and on Autotrader and so far I have found little to nothing that is worth looking at.  Is there any other cars/sites to look on?  I know local dealers, but I looked about a week ago and they had nothing.  I really like the looks of the 240sx, but is there other cars that look good or you can make them look good and they are right in the 3-5k price range and they are good for a project/first car type of thing? Thanks, Tyler.

Hmmm can't help you there about the cars, but as for looking for one I know of a site that you can go to. It's called mautofied.com they have private owners selling custom and stock cars, parts, bodykits, rims, and even motorcycles. I would check there for a car.

If you get a SR20DET engine into a 240sx, you can achieve about the same, if not more, horse power as those American engines. THE SR20DET. Got it? LOL! It's a matter of building one up and tuning it, though. I've seen projects that have made 600hp+ from a SR20DET engine. There are probably more powerfull SR20 builds out there, but I don't know of any off hand. My friends 91 Sentra was pushing close to 400hp out of a SR20 and it was a mild engine build with a turbo. It was modified as a rear wheel drive, but horse power in a 4 banger is what the subject is about. Look around and check out soe of the crazy stuff out there with a SR20 engine. You may not be original as every one who has a Nissan with a SR20 has been there and done that with it, but hey, who cares. It's what you want to do. That's why Honda guys like Honda cars. Like Honda engines, Nissan makes a very good SR20 engine that can be built upon.

Yes, but in order to do that I need to have more experience, correct? Or is their such thing where I can just buy one how it is and put it in type of thing? About how much do they normally run also? I'm googling it right now, but if I can not find anything then please post a price range. Thanks. (For the SR20DET)Oh, and this is not stuff I will be doing right off of the bat, I am just trying to learn more of what you can do and price ranges ect. I have not even purchased a car yet. Someone was telling me to look at honda civics also. Any opinions on those? There are ALOT of them in my area and that is why I would consider buying one of those.  There are not a whole lot of 240sx that are in my area, the ones that are, are either way overpriced or really beaten up and need alotttt of work. The SR20DET's that If found range anywhere from $2500.00-$3500.00. Does that sounds about right?

Me too as well. The KA20 and KA24 can be built just as nicely as the SR20. For what it would cost to swap and tune a SR20, you could just build up the KA and be just as satisfied. 2000Hcsi always brings up good points. Gotta love the dude. He compliments advice really well. LOL! I laugh, but I think he knows more than he lets on. LOL! Much props to you, 2000Hcsi.

Lol yep...after really getting into Hondas though I found out that they even have the Honda Integra. They look exactly like the Acura Integra and then later they told me that Honda and Acura are the same thing just with a different name lol I found that pretty interesting.
