Ford also worked with Nissan for a bit to make the Mercury Villager and Ford also took creative liberty with the ca20e engine that Nissan makes and stuck it in the Ranger/Mazda pick up. Some one at Nissan got upset with that one. LOL!

mazda isnt owned by ford maybe at one point in time they where. the 2 companies may have some partnership in which they built cars for each other or supplied parts to each other.

I hope Mazda was never owned by Ford because Ford has had problems with their cars for awhile...lol Honda just announced yesterday that they did a recall on one of the newer model Civics because of the airbag not deploying as far as performance goes Honda ftw! lol sorry if I am being random guys lol

Unfortunately, my brothers... it is. Mazda has control of their R&D and make their own stuff, but in the end they answer to Ford. Ford is going to down size much as GMC is doing at this moment. They plan on staying with Mercury and Lincoln. That's what's on the grape vine of information. I'm not too sure it's for real, though. Mazda has had a really good run with Ford and has improved on many aspects of repair and diagnostic procedures. Ford is actually top notch with diagnosing books and wiring schematics. I'm rambling on too much about Ford, some one might think I admire the product. LOL! Ford does have some good things about them, all though their quality hasn't much given any a sense of pride. Only a die hard Ford guy willrant abot the product in a completely positive way and not mention all the quirks they have from the factory that make it second rate. New Ford have issues that my 1997 Rav4 diden't see until it hit 170k miles. It's at 183k and some change at this very moment and still kicking, albeit the trans is giving me hints of being needy. LOL! I still stand firm on Japanese quality.

They always had the rotors, bro. LOL! That was a Mazda only thing since the first inception of it in Germany. The American car companies didn't know how to make it work correctly when it was sold to GM (I could be wrong about the company. It was one of the big three that purchased it at that time.) Then Mazda got the plans from who ever had it and completly did R&D and revamped the engine. Gotta love Japanese ingenuity! In the end, though, Ford and Mazda have had a good relationship. It's not so bad. *cough* Sorry, I had to clear my throught. LOL!
