First off, my boy TH does know a few things about cars. It's ok to give an oppinion. Cool? Second off, any one willing to build a Sonata is either brave or in need of a brain scan. It's not your average build, mind you, but if you MUST, who are we to say no. You will need to see what's availabe for that engine and drive train set up. I don't know what Hyundai offers other than the Tiburon set up. That could be a good swap, as they have a good offering of aftermarket parts for the line. In either case, though, you will need to mill your head and block for it to function as you want when doing a build. Chargers and turboes make things not last that long with out a proper engine build. Adding power getters, like intakes and exhaust, and not doing the most important part of tuning will get you 5 to 10 horses at best. It's a Sonata, though, so don't expect a whole lot or a deep following or any thing like that. If there are, it would be cool to see. Any way, Sonata are not as fast as you might think in stock trim and I haven't heard of any built up versions as of yet. My AWD, 97 Rav4 with 148hp spanked one recently and it was a 07 Sonata. Go figure, I would do a little light to light action at my age and break my own rule! The kid needed a spanking for cutting me off for three miles straight. I even went toe to toe with the last generation Tiburon on rt15 in Ct. going North with my little tank and it fared better than most Ravs. I was all ready doing 70mph when he got up next to me and he decided to cut me off for driving on the second lane... DOING 70! What, it wasn't fast enough for him? Any way, I stepped on the gas pedal and crept away as fast as he tried to cut me off. It was 2 A.M and the only danger to any thing was to deer and my self. The Sonata adventure was at 2 A.M. as well. I work late some times. LOL! If you should get what you want for your Sonata and build it to play on track, I'll meet you some day for a small, but friendly, race on a track some where. I finally got to do a few things to make some coin for my "RAVanous" build. I'm going turbo...It's all good in the tuning world, bro. Good luck doing what you want to your ride.
