Just recently I had a cardiac event that made me wonder about the health of some of our forum recipients. I take good care of my self by eating the right organic foods, excercising frequently and keeping away from processed foods that would other wise clog and sap your body of health. With all that care that I give my self, I still had a cardiac event. My doctor thinks it may be an inherited thing. The barage of up coming tests will confirm that, or not. Life does throw curve balls at times and this was just a small wake up call for me to do more in the advice department for all you guys. Call me caring or any thing you want. I just care about people. Sue me! LOL!
Let's face it, though. A lot of guys just don't take good care of the only life that they have due to lack of time or the schedules that they keep. Mechanics, in general, especially. I've worked in a lot of shops and have seen a lot of disgusting eating habits that would make a dietician faint.
Any way, my point of all this is to hear some of your ideas on healthy eating habits and things that would enhance your life and happyness. Sharing these ideas would open up some facts or dispell some old wives tales about health and longevity. In the end, a healthy life means more time on the cars we like to race and work on. Right? LOL! Plus, if you are healthy and not paying medical bills, all that saved money could go into your cars... and good healthy food. LOL!

Oh good now I feel guilty about drinking that 44 coke and eating those eating fries and chili dog LOL! I don't know of any good eating habits, but I read that if you don't eat within an hour of when you wake up you can become obese which is bad. Lots of sleep keeps you healthy too. Hope your ok s12. I care for my peoples on here too

Thanks guys. I'm actually feeling like my self again, though, not entirely up to 100%. I watered my plants and fed my gold fish, cows, and changed their filter. Not heavy work, mind you, but it is some thing to keep me busy. My kids know some thing's up and have been really helpfull. It's funny to know that they sense these things with out really knowing what's up.
Cholesterol is in my family and diet plays a big part of my day to day. I do excersise, but not nearly enough to combat the effects of cholesterol. I barely, if ever eat pork or beef, which is loaded with triglyserides and bad fat. Even lean meats have a small level of those bad fats and cooking isn't a sure way to get it out unless you burn it. LOL! I'm not saying not to eat beef or pork, though, it would be better for you in the long run. For those that don't have family related cholesterol, you should still watch your intake of bad fats into your body and eat those meats sparingly. I've cut them out of my diet all together for now. Soda is another of my vices that I've cut out of my diet. It's not that I drink it all day long or any thing like that, but maybe by cutting it out for a while too, I may see some success in lowering my weight and cholesterol a little better. I have to see a dietician to get an arsenal of info on foods that are thermogenic in nature so that it makes my body burn all that fat that is in my system. I have to figure out how to reset my hypothalmic gland also. That gland is responsible for just about every thing that is concerned with your weight, sleep, adrenalin production, pancreatic function. There's more, but I can't remember all it does. Any way, I will bring more to the table to dispell some old wives tales on this subject. In put from others is greatly accepted as well.
Hey Barber28, that 12 pack of coke and big bag of chips will eventually knock on your hearts door and give you a big "HELLO". Take care while you have your youth, guys. I did the same thing when I was in my late teens and early twenties and now I'm paying for it with a malfuntioning system. Don't wait till you're my age to worry about your health. Take a cue from the oldest playboy on the planet,( he lives in the Play Boy Mansion. LOL!). He's an old coot and is still a player. All due to watching his health since he was a youngen'.( Plus, all the female attention he gets also gives longevity! LOL!)

I pretty much live off of hot wings and beer so I'll let you know how well that plan worked out for me when I'm in my late 20's or early 30's - assuming I'm still alive.

i've found that exercising is really boring not really all that fun. the only form of exercise that i like is....MUSIC! playing the drums especially to punk music lol your constantly moving, your moving all of your lims, and it also exercises the mind by staying in time, what drum or cymbal to hit and when to hit it, and when to change the beat. though just like tuning and any hobbie its pricy lol

I considered a drum set for my son till I saw the price tag. I may as well mortgage my house for a second time. Just kidding! LOL! It's not cheap, though. It'll have to wait. As for kids sensing some thing wrong, I was told that they pay better attention than we think. Us adults have to watch what we say and do around them, that's for sure, because it will come back to bite us on our collective butts.
I'm feeling much better since Friday, but I still have lingering concerns about what caused my little episode. I have a stress test this Friday coming to get more info. If this doesnt reveal any thing, then it's more tests after that. If it does, they are going to insert a dye into my veins via one of the arterial veins that is located in my upper groin area so that they can do a CAT, MRI or x-ray. The dye lights up the arterial veins that surround the heart and other vital areas that make up the arterial systems of importance. I'm not sure how it's going to be done, but it's going to be nerve racking, none the less. The dye is not as safe as just doing an MRI, from what I've heard. I'm in GODS hands, though. I have faith in HIM.

Lol some parents say they don't buy the drums for their kids because they can't turn them off lol thats why they buy a bass or electric guitar LOL! I don't remember paying any attention at all when I was little lol maybe it was just too long ago, but they do have newborns that can already say hello it's amazing to watch. I love hospitals. If they can't cure you with the basic safe stuff then they try to kill you with the unsafe stuff saying that you will be just fine and feel much better. I hope everything goes ok and that it's nothing major. I'm sure God is keeping an eye on you and he is probably even curing you this very moment I guess we will know after your trip from the hospital.

Thanks, guys. Your support makes me feel good. I want to learn the guitar. I'll have to wait till I get caught up with bills, though.
Red Green? I'll have to Google him. I need a good laugh. LOL!

Well, I went through the barage of tests that they put me through yesterday. I did well considering my being out of shape. LOL! I lasted all of 15 minutes on the tread mill just to get my heart rate up to 160 or to a 98% rating. It's some software that they use to determine the heart rate so that they could do the sonagramm that they use to see the heart while at its peak. I won't know results til 4 to 5 days from now, though. I think I'm ok. I have faith. I'm just hoping it's a viral thing and nothing to do with the health of my heart. keep your fingers crossed.
Air guitar is easiest and is good excercise as well! LOL! I'll have my kids play with me, too! LOL!
