Hmm... Well, get your valve lash looked at and we will see where you are from there. Best of luck, mate.

lol It's ok I know what you mean by not being able to hear it...you and Ax are doing a great job on the advice though. I wonder if I might be able to listen to my sisters car while it runs? her car is also an SOHC the only difference is that its a D16Y8. I might even be able to put up a youtube video of it running that is of course if my computer wont act up on me lol

Listening to another SOHC Honda VTEC with around the same mileage might be of use. It definitely wouldn't hurt.

You got rain as well? I'm expecting another round tonight. It may have snow mixed in as well. This weather is not too bad, but I can already see how the summer is going to be. Expect very high electric bills due to over use of A/C. It's just a prediction.

Too bad about the wing. At least it's repairable. I'm tallying up what it's going to cost me in parts to rebuild my transmission. I ran into a snag with what I needed, so I purchased the Toyota repair manual today. It'll be here in 5 to 7 days. It's coming out of California some where. These guys publish the manuals for Toyota, so, I know it's info direct from the manufacturer. I also got the electrical manual as well all for $140.00+S/H. It was a great deal compared to www.repairmanuals.biz and what they offered for a price, which was a used book to boot. They wanted $122.00... For a used book! It pays to shop around.

wow $140+S/H to me thats alot but since it's right from the manufacturer it sounds like a good deal plus you got the electrical manual so I guess that sounds reasonable lol

Considering what they wanted for it 2 years ago, YEAH. They wanted $225.00. That was just for the manual. The electrical book wasn't even in publication 2 years ago. At least that was what the lady on the phone told me. The manual was $70.00+/- and the electrical book was $48.00. With taxes and shipping it came out to what I quoted on my last post. Some books are way more expensive than that, unfortunately. The book for my 87 200sx was $80.00 and a book for my friends 08 Maxima is almost $250.00. The older the car, the cheaper the book is. The book for my 200 is a transition book, which has all the updates that they made within the last couple of years that the model was made. I got lucky with that find.

wow lol well now it doesnt sound like a good deal but a super deal lol They also say the harder the part is to get off a car the cheaper it is and the easier it is to get off the car the more exspenive it is lol whats the deal with that?

Some parts are made to come off as a module of many parts built together and in some cases it has intigrated electronics, which makes it expensive. Thing like thermostats, head gaskets and stuff are relatively cheap and are a pain to get at. It's the way it's been since the electronic boom of the mid 90s. The more electronics you have, the more it gets burried in multi-use modules and the more expensive it gets.
