Definitely got to give you guys 2 thumps up for the great work..      Anyway, I'm just learning this English car lenguage you guys use,Something way too different in Spanish. Like AE86,BNR34, I know these are talking about the corolla and the Skyline. But it's not just these, I mean like, DSM, I know JDM is something about (Japanese Distributor Market) as I read in google I guess. Also OEM,POS, whats LS, RX, GS, series mean?? SShave tough me alot as a College Auto student, and i just want to make sure what you guys are talking about in the mag. And I know you can help me with the meaning of these, "NICKNAMES" or whatever..I'll appreciate any tips....!!!GRACIAS!!!                                                                                                                        -- seriously Edwin Alias L-yEyO.

You are too funny. Like a kid wanting to know about flying. LOL! You have to know cars, first and second if it's not related to a car or an engine build it's nothing too important. OEM, for instance, is ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER. DSM refers to the domestic market. It is some thing else also, but I can't remember. Sorry. LOL! Most cars use LX, GS or LE to show the class or interior options it may have. The only two vehicles that I know of in the States that have the RX badge are Mazda RX7 and Lexus RX350, RX400, etc., etc. Infinity has the G35, G35M, G37 and a slew of other styles. You just have to pay a little attention to what's out on the roads. It doesn't help you at all if you don't know that brands and their makes. Do you know what a Daihatsu is? Just curious and no offense intended with the question. I asked so that you see what I mean about knowing the many brands that are out there. Honda/Acura models are well known for their initials on their makes, like the GS, TSX and Si and DX. The Si and DX are civics and they both have different engines and the GS and the TSX are two completely different cars from Acura. You have a ways to go before you can understand the slang. It requires you to observe and learn as you go. I hope this helps you in some way, but if you are a nooby (new to tuning) it may take you a while. Hang in there and ask questions. No one here is beyond helping some one who really wants to learn, hermano. I'm latino as well, but I've grown up building and racing imports for a long time. Wow, come to think of it, it's been well over 20 years... LOL! Welcome. LOL! (laugh out loud)

i know most of them are car's names or whatever, and stuff like that, a lot of what its talked about in the mag, are engines too..but sometimes they come up and say "My car is JDM" i guess they mean that all parts are japanse..talking about the Blue Integra, in the issue of August 2008,,he said, on the choice of color,,,"YOU CANT ALWAYS GO WITH an OEM color"",,,back then I didnt know what that means..but thanks anyway men...

Well, the JDM parts are for the Japanese only versions of the cars that are sold in the States. A lot of those JDM parts you will never see on the American versions unless you go online to purchase them, but even that requires you to know the name of the cars that are over seas. An example of that would be with the mid to late 80s Nissan 200sx sold in the States. In most parts of Europe and Australia or Japan, it was called the Gazzele or the Silvia, depending on where you were getting info from. In Japan, the Nissan Z models were, and still are, called the FairLady Z. The cars we get here in North and South America are called some thing completely different than what it would be called in Japan or Europe, so, study up and don't be afraid to ask as you have. It's cool. LOL! Glad I could be of some help, though. That's what we are all here for. De donde eres, amigo? Perdona mi curiosidad.
