What kind of car would be best to start out with and how many miles should it have on it tops? I dont have the biggest budget so keep that in mind. Possibly a car under 5k.

First, HAPPY NEW YEAR! You can never forget that when the new year starts. Right? LOL! I'm plastered, please forgive my show. Actually, I'm surprised that I'm able to concentrate enough to answer you! LOL! As far as a car under 5k goes, you can't go wrong with a Honda. Try to find a 96 or a 97. Even a 99 is possible. Mileage will have to be a non-subject, because mileage does not determine the condition of the car. If it has been well cared for a 100k miles car can be just as good as a 30k miles car. Again, assuming the care given. Shop around and haggle. It's what you want, not the other way around. Cool?
Good luck and keep us posted on your find. We all here on this forum only want what's best for the people that want an import. American cars included, but this is an import oriented mag site. LOL! Good luck.

well the civic would be a good price. an early 90's toyota would be too though i guess. the corolla would be a good choice if you want a daily driver, but theyre not much to look at, and they are tough as hell. my bro rolled his and was able to start it up and keep driving. without even collapsing the roof i should add.

Cool. Hope no one got hurt on that. You guys are right about those two brands that you mentioned. I was plastered when I wrote what I did. I generalized because I couldn't think of any thing off the top of my head. The bubbly was talking a little for me. Come to think of it, so was the beer, wine, Bacardi clear, Bacardi Dark, Bacardi 151, Barrilito (cane rum from Puerto Rico), Pitorro (distilled, spiced cane moonshine from Puerto Rico... There was more, but after I got off line I drank some more stuff from Cuba. Every thing got real fuzzy after that. LOL! I was quite surprized to wake up with out a hang over! LOL! I wonder if I need AA? NAH! I only do that once a year While at home! LOL!
Any way, you guys are on the mark about the choices he's got. LOL!

Those early 90s Impreza were not big on performance. They were great for the AWD thing, but they didn't have what the WRX had in performance. A Talon is another hard find around whrer I'm at. They were not the nicest looking little cars, compared to their original cousins... The eclipse. All in all, though, not bad little cars. It's hard to find any in real decent shape now a days.

well s12 if you want a talon i could ship you about 150 of em cause they're everywhere in canada. the early 90's impreza's aren't too bad but if you do a swap you can get about 400 hp for under 10gs.

Dang! 10Gs? That's actually not bad!
Hey dncoo7, I'm sorry. I was only going by how hard it is to find those cars in good shape around my area. The salt, ocean air and changing weather paterns through out the year make it hard for finding cars in those years in good shape. I agree, that once modified with an upgrade that they rock. How do you feel now? LOL!

lol the key is you have to find a usdm impreza cause otherwise its close to that for the car alone. it is a way better motor in the jdm though so i would be worth it anyways but then you have less power...
