Recently stepped over an intersting article which was published by BBC. Now get this: In Poland near the city Lodz is street racing legal!!! Just kidding. The police faced too many street racers and therefore illegal street racing that they decided to close once a month the street to allow the street racers to do what they want to do. The police says that this system works. They have about 80% less illegal street racing now. Read the full article here http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/newsbeat/newsid_7416000/7416124.stm This would be even an idea for the greek police I think

That's interesting to read. I duplicated the article to pass on to some people. A patition will be started soon, if things go my way. Very interesting, indeed! You, my friend from across the big pond, are the MAN!

What is not known is that outside Athens and Thessaloniki and also at my hometown in Kavala (north of Greece) sometimes the cops give some clubs the possibility to make their races in industrial plants after communicating with them. That is not done by law but it's something like a handshake between cops and the racers which is in my opinion a good thing. Of course the example above of Poland is something more advanced and already law for that region but most countries in Europe won't go for this because we have in nearly every country (especially) in Germany, Greece and France enough racetracks.

The concept is good, though. Too many laws are against racing on the streets and not enough tracks are around that would just let some one race what they have. They all have rules and safety concerns and stuff. That's all good but when you have a dangerous trend of people racing at night and getting them selves, and others, hurt just to have some fun, the law has to find a reasonable solution other than taking and fining people. The people that race have the speed bug. You can't cure it with more strict laws, curfews and raids. That city in Poland has taken the first steps to becoming famous and people like me will venture towards those kind of events. As long as it's legal and there is some control over the track and the people, I don't see where the problem is. You kow? Here, in the U.S., the law is catered to the old and bored that have nothing more better to do but complain and make things worse for people. I believe in restraint but if you have an issue, like street racing, there should always be a happy medium, like that city in Poland figured out. I commend that.

Dude! im moving to poland now! Just kidding, but that is a really good thing to be doing, its about time somebody started a trend. but knowing how the U.S. loves to get nothing done, i doubt it will happen. time to destroy all our leaders and start a new government, right? that would be nice. I know of two big empty straight roads that people race on saturday and friday nights every week, sometimes 50+ racers go to rivergate and street race for a good 15 minutes before the cops show up. then theres at least 5 cops chasing all the cars at 100+ mph, its so much fun, just dont get caught.
I know, i know, im one sexy dude!

WOW what a progression that is an awsome idea to do (like the toyo banners in the back ground LOL) may have to start something up in british columbia here lol (though here there would be more caddies with "20`s" and cop cars racing then tuners LOL) but yeah i think every country or state or province or city should do a once a month race through the common streets you usally drive 60kmsLOL (yeah seems like with democracy nothing gets done eh?)
