the car has potential  no doubt about that... it all depends what you want from the car. like do you want a time attack, drift, show, drag ect... is it gonna be your daily drive or purpose built?

The 1JZ is the older brother of the 2JZ. Some of the Supras that Toyota made had those 2JZ engines in them. The 1JZ is a good tuner engine too, but for real horse power the 2JZ is the way to go. It has stronger internals than the 1JZ, unless you spend the money to streangthen it up at the main caps and machining the oiling ports a little bigger. It's not impossible to build one, it just involves a little more to get what you want. A turbo wouldn't hurt it at all, once built. Shop around and see what you can find for the 1JZ and if it's daunting to get parts to upgrade consider the 2JZ as a swap option. You'll need the PCM with that swap, though. Keep us informed on how you do. That is a cool ride.

I would love to call it project car, but i drive it to school everyday haha.  But im not really sure what i want the car to be i wanted to but bride seats in to it but i realized  it really doesn't go with the leather in the ca.r So all the work towards the car will probably be exterior and engine. And ill probably look towards the 2Jz a year or 2 from now.

Your car has a 2jz-ge in it from factory its good if your just gonna drive it for a grocery getter. An a 1jz is a good motor just depends on the year of the motor. If you can find a VVTI 1jz there a great motor I have one with a bunch of HKS goodies in and on it
