ok first off i drive a 97 saturn SL1 yea i know not exactly a tuner car. but i don't exactly have the money to get a new car. so i would rather just try and save up for parts for this car. until i can get a better job to get a car i want. but any who, my saturn has a lot of miles on it so needless to say i want a new engine and i was wondering what would be my best options for both speed and power. also i've looked EVERYWHERE for either LED,euro, or altezza tail lights and can't find any for my car ANYWHERE?? not sure if you guys could help but would love any advice/help you could lend me.

I would suggest a 25000 lb of thrust Pratt & whitney turbojet engine. at least then your saturn would be cool. Just joshin ya dude, but honestly, i know nothing of this "saturn" you call a car. try getting a car first, and then ask me how to make it cool. Really though, who makes saturn? toyota or something? or is saturn its own mistake? haha im sorry dude, i cant help it. But i cant help you out on saturns. besides, you seem like the kind of guy who likes UrAnus

no saturn is its own 'mistake' as you would say and i know its not that great of a car. i would love to get one of a few different cars such as a tiburon, civic, lancer,or eclipse but like i said don't really have the money right now. but no deff. not a guy who likes 'UrAnus' and i'm just trying to do the most i can with what i have.

i have done some stuff with it though. like new air intake and exhaust but thats about it. but for some ungodly reason this car is pretty quick for being practically stock.

oh not to mention the 2 12in subs

I wouldnt put too much money into a saturn, because, well its a saturn. but to every man his own, and if saturns are what fluff your skirt, then more power to you, playboy. but i feel ya on the money problem, like most of us younger dudes (im assuming your young) we dont have the money to do whatever we want to a car or buy whatever car we want. id stick to simple things like you already are, intake, exhaust, subs. (i got two kicker 12's in my car) and maybe window tint.

You get what you get when the market doesn't cater to your ride. Mtownstreetracer is a funny dude, I like him. And he is right to an extent. Saturns have been built with ECO-Tech engines with real results. The only problem is that you would have to get creative with the mods you make to it. A lot will have to be one off pieces.
Check with some of the many Saturn forums on line and see if you can get involved with some one who's built one. Saturns aren't the normal tuning car but like Mtown says, "To each his own".
Oh, and I have a box with 3 10" subs, four 6.5" speakers in the doors (I have a 4dr rav4), two more 6.5" speakers in the rear cubby panels and two 240watt 6x9 speakers that sit on the rear seats when I don't have the kids safety seats in. I'm pushing some where around 1200watts total from the amps that I have hooked up to the speakers. The head unit is a cheapy $99.00 Sony explode w/50watts per channel at 4ohmes, stable. I had to find 4 gauge wire to create the new circuit and I also had to make more grounds all around the truck to have better... well, ground. The two amps have their own ground wire that is tapped into the body, as well as every other electrical component that requires a ground. I have a 130amp alternator and capacitors that help with the bass. It kicks, if I say so my self. I could go on with some more details but it would be a long thread and I don't think that every one will want to read such a long description of my system. I've not used it since fuel prices have gone up so it's running with out the subs and the 6x9s for now. It's just too heavy. LOL!

lol. i just have an 800watt sony xplod amp powering my 2 twelves in a wood and box with plexiglass over the subs and then its ported in the middle. but then i also have 2 6.5" speakers in the door panels upfront and 2 6x9" in the back. so it hits fairly well also if i do say so myself. i plan on getting another 12" infinity to hook up to this amp b/c its not turned up all the way and its a two cannel amp so it would be an easy hook up just buy the subs and i already have 12 gauge speaker wire to wire all that up. and 8 gauge ground and power wire running from the amp.

i actually need to get the car tuned up for now. that is just a reg. tune up, its not running so hot now, but still a decent dependable fairly quick car. i'm just doing lil stuff here and there to make it a lil quicker and look a lil better.

i'm not sure if theres really anything i can do about it or if any one can. but other than the hood, trunk, roof of the car all the side panels are plastic?? so i can't get a decent paint job b/c it will chip away. (i forgot to mention i want a paintjob)

I suggest you consider swapping out the 8gauge wire for a 4 gauge. Any thing over 500watts will work more efficiently with thicker wire. At least to the distribution block, if you have one installed. 500watts and under will do fine with 8gauge wire.

God bless your faith... Remember that electricity makes things hot when forced to go through innapropriate wires. Fire will soon follow. Don't play with your safety, and your ride, when it comes to electricity. Every thing in your car is extremely flamable! I'm just looking out for you.
