Q1: Lol...just rev your engine a little, but your sound too eager. If your not smart you'll lose your license and wreck, and at 16 neither of those would be a good option for you.
Q2: What are you driving? Don't speed through the same spots all the time. If someone complains, the cops will start a stakeout there, and then your ass is grass. Again, be smart, join a car club, or find some people to help watch your back. Buy a police scanner or at least a radar for your car. If I were you, I try to find a crew, some sponsors, a few car shows, and LEGAL racing to get experience, before I hit the streets, but what do I know.

Here's a tip. Go to the track where the real men race unless you're scared. Street racing is for high school kids and looser idiots who care about nothing but their own arses. But yeah... you're 16. I hope you grow out of this immature stage soon.

First off, dont race on the street because #1 its dangerous, #2 its against the law, #3 if you want to race you should go to a local track...thats what a bunch of my freinds did and now they get paid to race at drag strips all over u.s. and a few have been invited to other countries...so if you want to race safe and get alot of attention, I reccomend going to a track of some kind.
best wishes, garv

man, i haven’t heard anyone this eager to race their car. You might want to wait until you have more seat time and street/highway knowledge before you race anyone. Of course I would say don’t ever race on the street but if you are going to, don’t ever race when there is any traffic or even a couple cars on the road, it is so dangerous for everyone around you.
When people drive they unfortunately do it almost subconsciously, they know how fast the flow of traffic is going and the average speed of the other cars around them. When someone comes flying down the road 40, 50, 60 miles an hour faster than the flow of traffic, people aren’t expecting it and it can cause some serious trouble.

The hype generated by movies like "The Fast and the Furious", as well as street racing vids available online only show one aspect of street racing. It looks all badass and glamorous. The reality of it is rarely as cool. Consider this. You go to your local car hangout with your new ride, and yer whip is quick as *** Some dude in a beat up CRX walks up to you and asks for a race, for X dollars. You're young, so you eagerly accept. So you go out, with some people to run interference for traffic and you race. So what are the possible outcomes? You win, and the guy pays you is the ideal (almost never happens). You lose and you lose some cash. You lose, and can't pay the guy so you get jumped. The cops bust you, suspend your license and impound your car. You wreck, the cops come, suspend your license and impound your car. You wreck, injure or kill someone, and go to jail. You wreck and die. Aside from the first, it's all kinda crappy. As people mentioned before, track it. *** some tracks have track days sponsored by the cops, where you get a "ticket" as your timeslip, and can race cop cars. The other advantage to tracking is you can get quantitative data to measure your driving skill, as opposed to on the street because on the street, you don't really know how much effort the other driver is putting in.
All show and no go can leave you feeling empty. All go and no show can leave you feeling embarrassed.

Ok i am going to kind of level the waters for you. I started driveing (not racing)at 16 and let me tell you if you are inexpereanced and trying ot do some serious performance driving on the street then you will probably wreck. I did but thats kind of how you learn. I would suggest getting some expereance before you race Just make sure you dont hit anyone else. If you are going to try something that you are unsure of make sure that there are no cars or deadly objects you could hit.
Ya street racing is risky. It is an adreneline rush though and that is why people do it. however if you are going to do it you have to be smart. If you grew up in the country and never have been in any trouble it is not for you. you also need to be able to take care of yourself. Some sort of weapon that is leagal would be good (in case you get pulled over) I would suggest a radar and laser dector along with the police scanner. Another tip is that say you live in washington. most state police cars even undercover will have liscence plates that start with WSP for washington state patrol. Also look for the cb antennas and any irregular reflections or lights on the cars as they may be undercover police vehicles. Never race in high patroled areas or where there is any traffic. when you see another car give them as much space as possible. You cannot predict what someone is going to do or not do.
Always make sure that your car is in top shape. check air oil coolant ect. I would suggest you educate yourself on parts. so you can buy good ones for your car and recognize them on other cars and know what you are up against so you dont go broke. also make sure that you put all of your money into perfomance and not into looks it will get you far. Make sure that everything else you do is legal so that if you do get busted you will not get slammed with a whole bunch of ***
A couple of last things. if the cops do pull you over dont be an ass and dont admit to the race being pre planed if it was just say he (or she) met you at a stoplight. also don't get into anything you cant handle and if you have no driving skill and are just a wreckless kid then LEAVE STREET RACING ALONE or get some experance first

"LEAVE STREET RACING ALONE or get some experance first"
I think the best point here was made by Rabid Lemming - It doesnt matter how much experience you have in an un-controlled environment, things will happen that are "out of your control" and there is always a chance that you will find yourself in a situation where no amount of experience will be able to get you out of harms way. I guess thats where the adrenaline rush comes in

Wow! How old is the original post? It's still a valid thing, though. I'm also wondering if this kid actually killed himself racing on the streets. I haven't seen a thread from him at all any where recently. Curious... It had to be another topic starter. lol!
How you drive is your buisness. Remember that you're not the only one on the road!
