Can you make the 1993 300zx motor into a single turbo motor? is it the same and will the motor handle it? I have no clue about nissans and i dont really have time to research it cause the kid is selling the car for dirt cheap cause hes getting locked up and hes a friend of mine so i know he took care of the car thanks!

if you set the car up right with all the supporting mods and kept your boost levels at a moderate number im sure the car would be fine for a decent period of time depending on mileage and how you treat it...i could be wrong but im pretty sure the n/a 300 has the same block as the turbo model, the pistins and rods are where you will run into trouble..

if you want boost. then the easiest, quickest, and most efficent way to get it is to buy a TTZ. you can swap ur NA VG motor for the TT VG motor but to do a single turbo build would be very difficult. and prob not what you will want in the end unless you just really like wrenching. also look at TT.net. alot of info on there, but use search cuz you will be flamed hardcore

personaly i think building a single turbo car is pretty simple, and prefur single over twin. why use two turbo's when you can do the same with one? turbo's have came along way since the factory TT trend, and my personal opinion is a single turbo is actualy more efficiant..

doesnt it just depends how much PSI your running? and i think they have the same engines in them, the turbo and non turbo i mean. my freind used to have a 90 300zx. but unlike me, you should ask somebody who knows what thier talking about when it comes to serious engine work!
I know, i know, im one sexy dude!

its not allways about more boost, no doubt the higher the psi the harder it is on the engine due to higher compression.. but you can blow an engine in a heartbeat no matter if its 6lbs or 30lbs the main thing that is going to cause problems is your air to fuel ratio, if your running to lean you will make more power but you also run a higher risk of detonation in the cylinder, on the other hand if you run to rich you take the chance of washing your cylinders wich is just as bad, thats where moderate boost pressure and a nice flat air to fuel ratio come into play.. say you take an N/A car and run 10psi on it and treat it like a race car, without the proper supporting mods and a decent tune the car might last you 6 months. but take the same car still running 10psi, have all the supporting mods with a good tune it will probly last you a couple years..
