It's been a dream to have a fast car that sounds great, and that i can take to the track, ever since i was little...

Got my liscence about 5 months ago, im driving a 99 Civic EX which i paid for.

Now obviously my budget is limited, but if you all were in my shoes, where would you even start? im open to all suggestions, i just want more speed and power pretty much.

I guess what im sayin is i jsut want a car that i can be proud of after a race, even if i get blown away by some rich boy with a suped up mustang.

Thanks alot everyone

start saving for a turbo kit. or buy each part indivdualy and put it together when you got all the parts

coilovers and brakes A.K.A. KONI AND BREMBO loll get that part out of the way so you wont have to worry about spinning out on turn 1 on the track lol(been there done that and thats not funlol)

If you're on a budget you know that it will take you forever to get what you want. A respectable car for track use will suck money out of your pocket and leave you wondering what happened. I'm not saying that you shouldn't try but just remember that it will cost you a lot of cash.
If I were you I would fix up the Honda as a clean sleeper and save up to find that car that will need little in the way of building up for track and that will still give you a some what reliable dialy use factor. Like a Supra or a 300ZX or any of those types of cars that come with some cojones already. You know? It's an option , not the end all be all of advice. You can do what you want. Just do it safely.

keep the civic(unless its automatic). i have a 2000 si putting out about 190 hp and its a blast to drive and quick. my friends parents bought him a 95 camaro with about 400 hp and in a 1/4 mile drag i only lost by 1 1/2- 2 lengths, so you don't need a whole lot of power to keep up to others.

Best advice. Learn how to drive your car the way it sits. You've been driving for less than half a year, get your practice in before you start thinking about turbo kits. Start small. Grab an exhaust(i suggest not a big can exhaust), an intake and headers and see how you like it. I've owned a few hondas, turbo and all-motor. See what ya like and have fun. Good luck

honda makes some very fun to drive cars, but, if you dont keep up the regular tune ups they will blow out from under you very fast, i have to say, start with a intake, then go for an exhaust, then rims, tires(low profile) some coilovers and springs, (lower it) then get some nice reliable brakes (more important then most realise) as well as a stableizer bar for the front axle, engine mount preferably, you can get one for the back, but, not really needed since its a FWD car, then when your REALLY feeling froggy, grab a H22 out of a prelude, and put a fat turbo on it, and smoke evos, :P

I get all teary eyed when so much good advice comes out of this community of tuners. I am a sentimental old head that likes to tune and I would love to see this thing go on for ever. I'm corny, I know! But how many of you would complain or go ballistic if the law made it illegal for you to tune your cars? I know that every one reading this is thinking of the response and it all is the same. Am I right?
