I've always loved compacts. I've owned a few GTI's but my new love affair is with honda fits. I do not yet own one, but I'm planning on getting one shortly, and perform a k20 engine swap to be followed by a few other mods that are lesser. I am NOT a drag racer. I like to have handling and speed, and it's rarer to see them both in one package. Now here's the fun part. My buddy is a mustang freak. He's got a V-8 bullitt that he swears by, and thinks I'm nuts for wanting to buy, much less put money into, a fit. His mustang (purportedly) goes 0-60 in 1.9 secs, cost him 10g's, and he put another 10g's into the engine. The fit should go 0-60 in the low 5's (maybe high 4's if I'm lucky?) which I think is decent for the car... and I'll probably spend about the same as he did on my car by the time I'm done, but it won't be 1.9 secs fast. I don't have a problem with that either. I want to set up my fit to drift. Am I as mental as he seems to think?

his cumstang does not go 0-60 in 1.9, your fit will not do 0-60 in even 7 seconds, lastly you will never drift a fit(fwd)

I don't think it's impossible either. With what the Fit actually weighs I think that there's a chance. If built to strictly race, of course. Lots of duckets will be spent to get there, though. I agree with twinturb03kgt about the proported powr of the Mustang. At best the 0 to 60 time would be in the 5 to 6 second range in 0 to 60 acceleration. The exsotic GT with the mid engine is the only Ford product doing neck breaking 0 to 60 times. I repeat, the "GT", not the GT500 that's also a Mustang. I test drove a GT and a GT500. There is no comparison to be made. The GT is a real monster compared to the GT500 Mustang. Wow, I feel confused, too! I re-read, though, and I'm right.

honda fit is not a tunner car, the engine has almost zero potential cause it's a SOHC, it has nothing to do with how much hp but the engine is built without a DOHC one. it's just a gas saver. i don't see nothing good with all the civic with the exception of the SI and TYPE R version.

That's why there is a thing called "swaps". Any thing can be made to your "imagination". I was thinking of an episode of Spongebob Squarepants where he used that word and created things with his bubble maker. If the Sponge can do any thing, why can't we? I hope that was funny.![]() The moral is, not to limit your self because the car isn't a tuner car. You tune what you want. Even if it requires a swap.

listen here, fitty cent. if a fit is what you like, then go for it! are you making it your daily driver or just a car to jack around the track with? if its the latter, then i suggest you gut that matchbox out and make it as light as possible. that means you need to take out all the seats and carpet and add a lighter seat and all those other shizzles and shiznits that make it lighter than michael jackson in africa. the K20 should be more than enough power, obviously, get it blown if you got too many stacks of money laying around, a problem i hope to have one day. anyways, i used to own a mustang myself, so like a fat woman with an extra set of back tities, im on both sides here. by the way playboy, until his mustang can slow down time, its not going 0-60 in 1.9 secs. maybe 4-5ish. if your fit goes rear wheel drive, then you got the stang on the drifting. then again, drifting is 90% skill. And sorry playboy, but 99% of the time a mustang is gonna "throw a fit"
I know, i know, im one sexy dude!

You come up with the most entertaining way of getting your point accross. You are right, though. (I wonder if I spelled accross right?) I think that depending on where this dude wants to go with his little fit, it will depend on how much he spends. Money makes the world go round, CREAM, dollar, dollar bill, YA'LL! Maybe a lotto winning will help...
