Yeah, they do handle well but as far as asthetics goes... you should wait till they finish the new RX7. It should be coming soon.

I honestly like the look of the RX8(with the right aero kit that is), but the engine performance is mediocre. Handling wise its a blast to drive, just wish there was more umph to it. Throw in a 3 rotor engine and you're good to go, but that's mad money.

I think that the RX8 has a 4 rotor engine, doesn't it? I must be wrong. But if it does maybe some body with rotary know how could modify it to get it up in the "umph" department. Again I'm more than likely to be wrong about it, though.

I think the RX8 uses a 2 rotor engine. The 3 rotor I'm talking about is the Mazda 20B, same one used in the RE Amemiya RX-7, look it up it's sick! It makes a crap load of power for being NA. Unfortunately the RX-8 doesn't have much umph to it. With basic mods, you're lucky if you pass 200whp. Also the engine's requires too much maintenance, and things break left and right. I use to want to get a RX-8 so I research up the a**, but in the end it was too much of a headache to work with. My friend traded in his RX-8 because he didn't want to deal with the Wankel anymore.

I will. I'll look into the specs on the RX8 as well. Working for a Ford dealership has its advantages. Ford owns Mazda and all that info can be searched for on their systems. I'm going to have a little fun info hunting.

Lol. Maybe an auto RX-8, but a RX-8 is more RSX Type-S territory, 180whp.

Yeah, that's it. There's Horse power at the crank, which means that the HP is measured off of the engine, so to speak. And then there's Wheel Horse Power. The Horses are measured at the wheels. WHP is always a little lower than HP at the Crank. You lose HP through translation from the engine to the wheels, unfortunately. It's not always the case, though!
