why hasn't there been an article about this? (maybe there has but i must have missed it...) theft within the "tuner" community (especially hondas) is out of control these days. everyone talks about fixing up their cars and making them faster, but what the hell is the point if it's just gonna get stolen when you drive it to go run some errands? and you know it's bad when you have to worry more about your honda getting stolen than the porsche parked right next to it!!!
so what the hell!?! what do you do about this? buy an alarm? HAHAHA! park it in a garage? that's nice... if you have one. maybe keep it somewhere safe and buy another daily driver? well, a lot of peoples' "toy" cars are also their daily drivers. buy lowjack? maybe if you have some money left over after that swap. and even after you take ALL the necessary precautions, your *** still gets jacked.
people are also out there buying a whole bunch of crap that gives them a false sense of security. auto-locks. removable steering wheels with hub locks... all of which only slow down(at best) the professional thief.
so what do you do? nothing? there's gotta be something.   i'm really not willing to settle for, "that's jes the way *** is dawg..." and i don't think anyone else should either. this really needs to be addressed and the community as a whole should really do something to change the way things are. at the very least people should be informed of what they're getting themselves into when they go out and buy a honda with plans of "fixing it up".

Just by the Club. Get an alarm that also has a light to indicate it's armed. Remove your face plate off your radion. By locking lug nuts and don't leave anything of value in your car. Theives look for easy targets so anything that's going to cost them time is going to make them move on.

i know what you're talking about bro, within 3 weeks of owning my civic they tried breaking into it about twice a week! hide the face plate dont bump the system in neighborhoods or showoff to people you dont trust. put the club on and keep the car visible as much as possible. once ppl see you secure your stuff they arent gonna try to jack it

sorry, but i have to disagree with you on that. the club can doesn't do *** they usually just saw the wheel. i don't know if you're from socal, but when someone wants your *** they'll come back for it... especially if they know whats in it. they'll come one night, see if there's an alarm and scope it out, then come again and test it again, then come again (maybe a week or a month later) and take the whole thing. it's very easy to get around your standard stuff (alarms, club, autolock etc.). that's why i was saying people buy things that give them a false sense of security.

oh for sure, although these days, ANYTHING "JDM" on your car is more likely to draw attention than crazy body kits  or big mufflers. it just sucks that now you can't make your car look the way you want it to because it'll catch someone *** theif's attention. why should they be able to pretty much dictate how your car looks? you should be able to make it look however you want and not have to worry as much as you do now. i understand that theft will happen regardless, but this *** is happening too frequently. i don't know one single person that's owned an ITR that hasn't had it messed with or stolen. like i said. something needs to change for the better. anything. technology really needs to get off it's ass. we have so much crazy *** on the market to make your car faster, handle better, or look better... but we don't have anything NEW that can help you keep your car??? infact, what's the latest security invention we've been introduced to???? the autolock? isn't that *** like, 8yrs old???

I've rad every thing you all have had to say. And no, I'm not an editor but when you fix your car up there is always an idiot trying to take what's not his. The law isn't helpful either. It's serious money for a really good system and after all that is put into it to make it look good and drive fast you're left with lint in your pocket. May be just build it and trhen make the security system the next big thing to do on the car...

I'de like to know how to do that! How would you with out having to drag your self under the car removing the shield and bolts to the converter. If it's accessable, that is. HMMM... Some thing to ponder.
