Hello everybody,
I’m for about 7 months now a subscriber of the magazine. I stepped over this site while I was looking through the internet to find a place where car fanatics and tuners meet and show what they have. To tell you the truth it’s difficult for people here in Europe to find a really good community. There are some forums covering topics like “yippie I drive a Honda” or “my rx7 is the best” and stuff like this, but you won’t find a place where car enthusiast really can satisfy his thirst. After steppin over this site I finally found a place where I feel like home.

Now I thought how it would be to get a site running which is especially made for European car enthusiasts. Don’t get me wrong. We have some really great communities here in Europe but 90% cover Mercedes-Benz, BMW, VW and Audi.

I try to visit as many events possible around Germany and Greece and had the chance to talk to many people of communities spread over Europe and event managers and we all noticed that there is no really portal like the superstreetmagazine website.

To keep things short I am building at current a portal for European car and tuning enthusiast targeting mainly Japanese cars. And for this I need your help. You people (in America) are much more advanced about techniques, knowledge and know-how and you drive damn hot rides. I’m looking for some of you who are willing to release an article on their ride or maybe allow me to use pics of their rides for the site. I’m also looking for people who can enhance the site with their knowledge by providing some of their ideas or write small articles which can be useful. I got already some guys from importuner.com who are willing to write articles about their rides just to show the people here in Europe what is possible to do with your car.

The final link will be http://www.codejdm.net
A testing instance is available at http://dev.codejdm.net which is live but still work in progress. Hopefully the site is finished by end of July and can be launched.

Why should you help me?
Because you like me and you ignore the fact that my English is poor (hey what do you expect from a greek guy living in germany? ). Because you want to help people who ask for help and because you people just have damn nice rides and have so much knowledge and experience on jdm which could help others who don’t.  In each article all the credits go to you of course.
What can you expect?
All the Kudos from Europe. I’ve talked to many clubs and communities in many countries here in Europe and most are very interested in the new site.
What you shouldn’t expect
Money. I’m a professional software developer and work on this site for two weeks now in my spare time. I have currently no sponsors to help me so I’m not able to send any money for this.
What the site will include
The site will include a news section, an articles section and an event section. Especially the event section will be available to public so that all the clubs and communities can enter their dates in there to reach a wider range of people. I’m also working on a community section which covers a forums and a users rides section. I must admit I liked the readers rides section of this site so much that I implemented sth similar into my site. Finally a links section and a mediathek for videos and pictures round up the site.

Check out the development link above to get an idea of what it’s gonna be. Please don’t forget that I’M still working on the site so some parts may not work to 100% but hopefully this will change.
If you are interested in helping me out with the above request don’t hesitate to contact me. Any kind of help would be great.
If you have comments or suggestions and of course critics on the site please let me know. Any info could improve the site.

Thank you guys

I heard that .net sites stink... It's not my oppinion and I don't agree. But, last I checked Super Street and Import Tuner were from the same publisher. I could and can be wrong about this but maybe the actual publishing company would be a better medium to aply your idea to about this. In Spain imports are looked at as disposable and not worth what a European car is. That's what I got as responses when I asked about the ones that I saw. For Europe that is true, maybe. The same was said about European cars here in the U.S. at one point. Times change, of course, and Japanese car companies have improved by leaps and bounds since the 80s. The same cannot be said of American cars, though, they have improved some as well in the past ten years. Not enough to really compete where Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi and Honda have gotten, though. I'm sure that there is a market in Europe that targets to the Japanese import tuner, no pun intended. There wasn't a great acceptance of Japanese imports here at first until the revolution began to grow on the streets. The good thing is that you guys over seas don't have to prove your selves on the streets with all the tracks that you have. Every thing on this planet has to start some where.

favorited your new site... hope it gets huge! cant wait to see  check out

www.theautolog.com, www.thespeedlounge.com for some more ideas

my only suggestion would be to definitly become really good friends with someone with a sick camera and have them come with you to all the events you go to and throw a codeJDM logo on the bottom of all the pics. (people are simple and if they see a pretty picture of something cool they'll look harder and want more of it) Having good professional pictures on your site will be your biggest asset by far. People will undoubtedly come to your site but only if the structure and pictures are good, and the stucture looks really good so far!  Definitly keep us posted dude!

@blackmonkey: thanks for response dude. I'm a professional software developer for over 10 years now and worked quite a lot with php and asp but since .NET was released I can highly recommend it. Faster to develop, less code more secure all that stuff. I see you are involved in what's going up here. The point is that there are really only few sites which cover japanese cars. BMW and VW dominates here. so all the sites from clubs are really separated. No one knows about the events from others so I want to change that. It's only a try. If I fail it doesn't matter. The good thing on failure is you can learn from this.
@turboz32. We have two professionals with cameras but as you know it's hard to get them motivated. One of them shot the pics of my teg on my profile. The dark ones. So I think he is doing good. We'll get him with my teg and a skyline to the Nürburgring for some race pigs and maybe a short video. About pm believe me I tried. But the only guys who answered were the guys at importtuner.com. so i thought of a forum post. By the way, Your 300ZX is hell of ride... Intersted

Winners never quit and the hard work only gets that much more fulfilling. I visited the link and I liky a lot. We have a lottery here in CT. called the powerball... When I hit, lord willing, I will definately give you a buzz. Again, money pending, as is all things now a days... Keep strong and you'll see that it will all work out in the end.
Oh, and turboz32 is right. Just make sure that they are good picture takers and have a professional attitude about them.

@blackmonkey hopefully I'll meet you some day on my site. it would be an enhancement having you posting there too.
@turboz32. man I'll contact you as soon as work is finished. Thanks for that too.

Just for the sake. Can anybody check out the News section of my site (http://dev.codejdm.net/News.aspx)? I found a gasoline price ticker and implemented it. Could you guys from usa check out if the price for the USA is realistic?
Thanks again.

I don't know about the national average, but in my home town of Seymour, CT. it's as follows; reg. is at $4.39gal or $1.10 a liter, give or take... medium grade is a little higher at $1.17 a liter and premium at $1.21 a liter. Some places in Connecticut are higher at $5.00 and some change per gallon of fuel and the national average does not reflect what we pay here in Ct. I don't know what people in N.J. or N.Y. pay since I haven't had the pleasure of traveling into those areas, as of yet. I know that Europe is paying out their noses for fuel. I feel for you...

i think we're still in the high 3 dollar range for regular (89 octane) but at like 4.20-ish for 93 octane i think...

That's not too bad, considering, but it's still a drag when all we do is work to fill our tanks... Every thing else is getting just as bad and we aren't making enough to keep up! Pres. Chooch (Bush) is to blame for all our woes... 7 years in office and he let this country down like a sack of rocks! He says that our economy is strong but it could be better... IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FROM THE BEGGINING IF HE HAD MADE BETTER DESCISIONS ON THE FREAKIN WAR IN IRAQ!!!!!! And we're still there doing lord knows what, spending $12million a day...

At this point thanks to all the people from this site who helped and continue to help. If anyone is intersted in contributing something feel free to contact me via mail at dimi@codejdm.net

Comments, critics and ideas are of course welcome.
What about you turbo32? I want your ZX on my site. just send me a mail or a pm on this site.
