hey, hi w/e, So im going to need a car within the next 3 months, i have a lot of pocket cash and discounts at my disposal. I favor the new evos because the outter styling is really great, and has a great engine and its awd. im looking to do some street while im off duty and then if i get pulled over flash my military ID*lol ok thats not exactly a good moral thing to do but hey gets me out of trouble* so any suggestions other than the evo? and what i could do to it?

Yeah, I would go with what TheHormone said. The EVO is a good "out of the box monster" in stock trim. Just do up the suspension and brakes so that it handles better than stock. PLease keep it on the track, though. This past Sunday a guy got tossed up 30 feet in the air and died as a result of his injuries due to getting smacked by a car illegaly racing. It happened in New Haven, Ct. on Long Wharf Drive, right off of exit 44 on I95. The driver was ok and fled but there's the problem. Some one always gets hurt or dies... eventually. And still people race on the roads! Little by little all these incedences will ruin it for the tuner. Laws will get tougher and we won't get to do what we want with our cars. If you don't think it's happening now, speak to any one who knows the laws in their respecvtive state and see if they haven't gotten tougher for the tuner. California has a ride height restriction! I think that some other states take it a bit further. Enough of me preaching. Just think before doing some thing stupid on the streets. It's not only you that suffers when some thing wrong happens. Already the state of Ct. is implementing tougher laws on tuned imports because of this latest incedent. All it takes is a little thinking. There are tracks available to run your car... use 'em!

ok this might sound a bit pricey but if you have enough to get a new evo, why not look into a couple year old c6 corvette. more power(over 100hp more)and much rarer, comes with much better brakes and better suspension so that wouldn't really need changing

Really rare indeed! I don't think that the 'Vette clubs are the way to go, though. I've got respect for the car, MUCH respect. But bang for the buck and fun factor? The EVO is a better choice. They both have fun factor but the EVO, the price and the availability? Can't beat it.

i gotta disagree there. the vettes got more power and a better suspension, better brakes, better..... and if you buy one used you can get it for the same price. i would definately rather drive a vette than a lancer. i know someone who has a lancer and its not as great as people make it out to be

Yeah, the vette does have a lot of nice stuff in it from the factory. I guess it depends on this guys preference at this point. If both the Evo and the vette were women, I wouldn't throw either of them off the bed! LOL! Faults and all!

Evo sounds great. I don't really know what is possible to do with a Corvette (too rare in Europe) but imagine what you are able to do with an Evo. Most important is like TheHormone said that you got a lady with 300hp out of the box.

if they were woman go for them both but i was thinkin bout if you want to tune it up theres not as much stuff you can do to a vette bolt on wise because it comes factory with more performance parts and you would be wasting time and money changing out things like the brakes.
