It's male dominated and there isn't enough interest from the ladies. I like when women are interested and knowledgeable about cars. I have no issues with that. And other guys shouldn't either. You do what you like and should be respected no matter what gender you are. Right? My group of friends are BUTT heads. They meet a lady with smarts about cars and they get all offended like. It's the old machismo attitude, I guess. Cave man attitude! Yeah, I am a guy who thinks that women are our equal. WHAT! LOL! I really do think that...

The same reason why most girls don't know how to change their oil or tires...

They're just not into it. Whenever I ask my female friends why they don't know basic stuff like that, their reply is almost always something along the lines of "That's why I have a boyfriend, dad, mechanic, you"

Such is life. What really pisses me off is when girls will ridicule you for spending a couple G's on a mod, when they'll drop that on a purse that will be out of style before the year is out...

WTF?

I give it up to the girls who step into the "mans" world. I'm a starting mechanic and i still get the looks of "huh you know about cars and tools" yeah it gets annoying, but hey why is it that men get offended when girls know a little bit more about them. I mean i see girls strip down to their underwear on mags posing for cars? but is that all women can do with cars? is pose as models, i think we can also accomplish to be the one driving the hot cars.
so why are women looked at as just a model, we can to be mechanics and tune cars...

Those types of guys are only insecure about them selves. Don't sweat it. If you're really good looking and have know how on cars... you can be both. I'll say it again. Women are our equals and deserve respect regardless. Guys make it a challenge even to other guys. Just be glad that they payed attention enough to get riled up about it. A woman with car smarts insults a mans machismo. I'm comfortable with it. I don't speak for every guy, though, so it may offend some dudes. Sorry guys. The world is changing and we have to change right along with it.

hmm asuming girls are only good for modeling is stupid. tottally agree with s12rapido3.  and asking why there are not enough girl tuners is just like asking "why are people different?, why do men like cars and women like shoes?"  honestly to answer the thread my reply is ..........when you think about it girls seem to be directed into shopping, looking good and modeling and guys seem to be directed into cars and electronics. so why arnt there alot of girl tuners you say.there are alot of girl tuners and there all kickin my ass on the track!lol

Amen brothers. It's not a mens world.
and to be more detailed woman are also great race drivers
04.04.2006 Vanina Ickx with the Audio Team and Susie Stoddart Mercedes C-Series influenced and often dominated the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Championship) Race scene here Germany. Ellen Lohr dominated for many years the same racing scene.
Volkswagen Racing in the B-Series had two women for mechanics.
There are many more examples but that should do it.

That's a turn on for me! Girls and cars! And I don't mean just the models.
I wish I could have met a girl who was into it like I am. I would have had the best of two worlds. A hot babe that loved to work on cars. I guess my fetish is a lady with grease on her hands? LOL!!! Gotta' love it!
Too bad I've been hitched to the ball and chain for 11 years. My wife only knows how to fill up with gas and drive... My reality is not what I dreamed of. Oh well. lol!

Join the club, pal. lol! When fellas get hooked up with women that don't see what you see it gets tough to do what you want. One day, I would like to get hooked up with a lady that has my interests. I can dream, can't I? LoL! I still respect the ladies that are into it, though.
