Woah!! I can't believe people are crying about this. It's just a stupid internet voting gimmick to get people to participate on this site. It's not as if Super Street are checking the profiles to find their next feature car. Even their ride of the month contest is flawed and biased.
Sure many of the top rated cars are close to being stock or are over rated but how often have you ever seen a car worthy of the top spot, in the top spot of any internet voting website? NEVER!!! Just check out ridejudge.com or hincity.com. People have their friends vote for them and return the favor.
As far as the Saturns are concerned here, the readers rides section was DEAD before myself and other Saturn enthusiasts from www.sixthsphere.com discovered it. There were probably a total of 15 cars on the entire gallery. So we decided to give them a bit of help and posted our cars. Since we were the only ones on the site, we voted for each others cars as there were no other cars to vote for. Once the word got out by both the Super Street staff as well as other "Import" communities that Saturns were "taking over" Super Street Online, the Import crowd took notice and start posting their cars.
So basically, we brought life that portion of this site. We have not voted anyone else down. In fact, we noticed that our own grades had begun to drop as the Import community began to increase here. Do we care? No! It's just a stupid unregulated internet judging site!!! Personally I think that my own car should be among the top few cars because I've probably done more custom fabrication than 95% of the people on this site, plus I drive, race, and show my car on a regular basis having recently taken 2nd place at Redline Time Attack in the Street FWD class. The proof is on the front page of their site here --> http://redlinetimeattack.com/

Am I crying about it? No!! There is no point in crying about something that you can't do anything about and that has no real effect.
I'm really looking forward to your responses.
See you at the next event.

i guess he fails to see most if not all the saturns in the top are all custom turboed or nitrous injected and seeing as we have zero aftermarket support we have to do it all on our own.
but what ever who cares i sure as hell dont

this is maybe ok for you but for most it isn't. It wasn't either for me at the beginning. Now I don't care any more but others do because they spend months and years in their garage to modify their rides and create the ride profile on this site, just to recognize that stock cars are dominating the highest rated area. Not only this but having those Saturn guys comenting our rides bad is inacceptable. Especially when reading comments like this: "Darn I really wanted to give G-Racers ride fives across the board, but because he is bleeding like xxx and yyy I gave him ones" You will say this is an exception. What about the fact that they are with 10 till 20 votes downrating the rides which make it into the highest rated rides? That's more than inacceptable. It's ok having your friends and your whole hometown registering just to vote for your ride but don't piss on the others who REALLY worked on their cars. This is really sad.
The gimmick you are talking about is not only a gimmick but a feature on a site like this. so others count on this feature and I bet everyone hopes that his ride gets some stars and he gets the appreciation of his work. Not possible with conditions like this. Other primedia magazine sites with the same readers rides feature don't have this problem. As I said people should ignore this fact here at superstreetonline. It's more important to appreciate the work of those who deserve it, so I understand the others. I didn't care about it as long as it didn't touch me personally, now I'm laughing about this. Nothing personal man but you cannot vote a stock Volkswagen Beetle with 5 stars on a site with highly modified Ferraris.

Just so everyone feels better I removed both of the SATURNs I added to the site when the site had maybe 50 cars altogether. I'd guess 45 of the 50 cars were SATURNs at that time. What vote who gets or what brand car one drives means nothing to me at all. This site means nothing at all thats why my cars have been removed. Vote away have fun and do enjoy.

I say, if it really is built up, like the pic of the Saturn that carcass put up, then it deserves a spot to be voted on. You put all the hours and devotion to build some thing like that. It's respectable. But when idiots are playing games and posting pics of door wedges to be voted on instead of built cars, then the voting that is done to hype up the wedge is worth squat. It should mean some thing when all your hard work is being noticed. The fact that they're Saturns isn't the problem. It's that they aren't built in any way, form or fashion and they get high props. How does that compute? I could care less about that link but there are others that do care and they shuld have some respect. That's all. Enough of the games and let's all be real. If you want to play games then visit the Disney Chanel and play the dress up game! My daughter loves that site! LOL!

You all sound like a bunch of bigots, with your rhetoric. If I didn't know better I'd guess and signed on a KKK site.

Uhmmm. If any one here is a bigot, I missed it. No one is saying that a "SATURN" doesn't deserve a spot on a magazine forum that is "PRIMARILY" about imports. That doesn't sound "BIGOTED", does it? Any way, I don't have the power to keep Saturns off the mainly import related forum that Saturn guys are trying to dominate on the vote link. If I did have the power I wouldn't ban them. I still stand by what I've said before. "If it's built and catches the eye, Why not? The problem is that some ,if not most, are not eye catching and are so stock looking that they don't merrit the votes that they get. And other cars that are more deserving get over looked or out voted on by the stock looking Saturn. Again I ask, where is the logic in that? No one has said that they don't want Saturns on the voting block. All they ask is to be right and fair about the voting. Is this clear now? I hope so because I would hate to think that tuners are childish and only do voting based on playing games. I speak for those that have put hours,if not months, into their rides so that it gets some nods.
