LOL!!!!! And I'm the one who makes you guys laugh? LOL!!!! They are right, though. Hondas are a really good car to start with. Reliable as no other can be... besides a Toyota. LOL! Shop around a bit and test drive a few cars and compare their options. You'll be surprised as to how much better some models are over another. Don't just stick with American made or Japanese made. European cars are pretty good too. Just don't go with VW at this point in their production. Too many electrical issues. Bimmers are hot! See if you could find one in your price range. My neighbor has a 1987 325i cabrio that he's had for long time and it's in remarkable shape. Thanks to me... well, not for every thing. Just a clutch master issue.

If you want an American car, I would suggest a Chevy Cobalt SS, if it's in your price range. Don't flame me now ppl...I mean its a pretty damn good handling car(for an American car =p) and it can be made to have plenty of umph. I personally don't like the interior or exterior much, but hey its an option. Another used option is the Dodge (Neon) SRT4s. Again, can be made to give plenty of umph, but heard there were reliability issues. I personally think it was because of the owners knowing nothing about their cars and pushing it too much or ignoring simple maintenance.

don't get either. i know someone with a cobalt and 5g's later it barely beat a base sunfire with a ractive muffler. plus dodges are just built like garbage. i would say maybe go Camaro if you want american. theres one running around my town with bodykits and rims and tires and it looks great

LOL! I guess American is out unless it's old school muscle! LOL! Not too bad fellas, not too bad at all! LOL! If you have the patience to shop around it will be worth it to do so. Every one is giving you very good options. It's all up to you on what you feel will fit you.

1G DSM, cheap, easy, decent stock speed and even better with the smallest modifications.
