Cooling Problems!!

Well, to start this out. My car is heavily having cooling problems. The 1st thing about it, is that the car over heats when I am driving on the highway and in the city. The electric fan does come on to help support it but it will over heat again. Also, before I turn the car off, I have to let the car sit running so that the boiling point in the car can drop. The 2nd thing is that I had put in a new thermostat, added a cooling additive (Redline Water Wetter), and replaced the old antifreeze with a new one. However, the car still does the same thing by over heating but the car doesn't blow up. The 3rd thing is that the electric fan does not come on by itself whenever the car is turned off. Even when the car is off, supposedly the electric fan is supposed to come on when it is too hot it still doesn't come on at all. The only time it will ever come on is when the car is turned on and when I have the ignition on when the cluster lights up red. Please help me out!!!!!!!!

it's obviously that u need new radiator, u can get a high performance all aluminum one for decent price now. don't forget to replace all the old hoses and flush out all the old cooling fluid when u put ur new radiator in. u don't need to use cooling additive, they don't really help .

ansalad is right. Before you go crazy getting a new radiator consider getting another thermostat. I've found that for every 'stat you install the likely hood of getting a faulty one are good. I've had bad luck with after market 'stats. I use the ones made by the manufacturer for the dealers... in other words, go to the respective dealer that sells your make and get the 'stat there. I've never had issues with 'stats since I've gotten them there. For what it costs and the effort it takes to put one in, it's worth seeing if it's the 'stat before condemning the radiator. Also, make sure that there's no air pockets in the system too. That can cause those same symptoms. Cover your bases. You know?
