Why do people hate cars that aren't their brand?

I've been wondering this and need enlightenment. Why do Honda folk talk down about other car folk, and vice verse. Where's the beef? Isn't it all about the tuning of cars, in general? Who cares if it's a Honda or a Mitsubishi or a KIA? Well, I don't know if Kias are tuneable... Never seen one. You all know what I mean, though.

probably the same reason your kind talk down us three legged, albino midgets. cant you accept us for the sexy pieces of booty that we are? haha but really though, its just sticking to what we got, if i drive a nissan, i automatically am gonna promote my car and make it seem cooler than anything thats not a nissan. (my last car was a infiniti G20, which is made by nissan)

I know, i know, im one sexy dude!

I have much respect for anyone who has poured his or her heart into any vehicle to make it perform and look better.

At the same time, the level of respect that I would have for someone who were to take a non-aftermarket friendly vehicle, and build the hell out of it, would be of a much higher level than the respect I would have for someone who just went out and bought a car because it is popular, all his or her friends have it, and its easy to modify.

You get a hell of alot of extra brownie points for originality and having the BALLS to attempt something different and not be a follower of the crowd.

But back to the main question... I drive a turbo Saturn.  I really don't care that it's a Saturn and I don't care to defend the company.  I don't own stock in Saturn.  I'm just proud that my Saturn project is something that most people are too scared to tackle, and it looks good and performs better than most cars on the street or in magazines for that matter.

Challenge: Pick up your latest issue of Super Street and tell me just how many cars can out-do mine in mods and custom fabrication.

I have no doubt about your car, my friend. I've seen the pics. I'm extremely impressed with your ride. Much props to you. And you, too, are correct in your commentary. It seems as if no matter how you look at it that there will always be many different views and all correct. This is hard, isn't it?
I think that it will take innovators, like carcass, who will take a car to the next level and teach people about how it should be. I don't have a real love of one particular model, even though I like Nissans. To explain better, I would pick the better of the two cars, given a choice. If the Nissan was in poor shape I wouldn't waste my time. Unless it was an oldy, like a 240Z or a 510 or some thing. Even a Mazda Cosmo would tickle my fancy but then we're talking rare, with the Cosmo.

TheHormone is having one of my moments. LOL!
Yeah, I can understand that, too. Cars that are paid for by some ones parents isn't respectable towards the individual but the car shouldn't suffer for that. Should it? Rank on the person not the car. That's just my theory.
