Some people have way too much time on there hands 'cause all they do is come on this site and talk trash. You don't see me on the Mopar and Ford sites talking trash. It's fine if you love V-8s every one has their own tastes but don't come on here and dis what other people like. I hate "ricers" too but to me a ricer is someone with sponsor stickers that don't even make parts for there cars and a rediculous wing. I have seen people put SS badges on cars that aren't SS too. I like nice clean imports with real power. I also like custom jobs. Anyone can go out and spend the money and get a nice fast car. It takes a true enthusiest to do the work himself and have a car that's completely yours. To me taking a Modle A Ford, slapping a Lincoln motor in it, cutting of the fenders and doing some nice pinstriping is the same as... Getting a Civic, putting an Integra motor in it and slapping on some carbon fibre and painting it. Some people say an I-4 will never be as fast as a V-8, but a  200 hp car at 2,000 lbs will be just as fast as a 300 hp 3,000 lb car. And if you are going to talk like that I might as well say no matter what a V-8 will never be as fast as a V-12. In clossing every one is entitled to their own opinion, we live in countries with free speech, and notice I didn't have to resort to profanity and insults to make my point.  

Well put, holmes, I've been sorta' sayin' that from the beginning. I'm not directing this at any one at all in particular when I say this, but, some in this forum are as bias and as negative as V8 lovers that come on to bash us. I like a well built car as well, any car... period. I may have my prefferences, but, oldies and hard to find and uncommon cars are a plus as well. I agree that people are too focused on what is "better than" instead of just for the love of building and being different. So who cares if our cars don't beat a V8 all of the time. For the serious tuner of imports that have succeded in smoking a V8, that is and always will be the fun and challenge that we will take on...  Are we all agreed on that? We tuners don't have to talk much to prove where we are at!

There were a lot of car club fanatics back then... I remember the Toyota club here in Ct. and the Mazda clubs as well. They were big on the rotary engines and had decals of pistons with a slash going through it.
Yeah, the haters are the #1 fans... Who else but the haters? they hate so much that they critique!  

Now not to be too mean to you guys and not saying i don't love tuners but in a straightaway V8 muscle kills. My dads got a 69 Camaro ss and we've raced a tricked out rx7 with  about 350 hp and beat it by so much that i can't even think of a number to give you an idea(on a track not street) and my brother just got done a 78 vette with about 500 hp that kills that camaro so not dissin tuners but seriously, V8s will always be quickest  

You forget that there are imports out there that go by the nick name of GODZILLA (skyline) and another V8 killer from the Toyota line called SUPRA! lol! I can respect a person building a 4 banger or a rotary with more horses but when drag racing against a V8, the V8 usually beats the import, more than not. Again, unless that import is a Skyline or Supra... then we have a toss up when both the import and the domestic is built.
That's where the fun is. I would love to see races like that. It would be exciting. Not because of the race being between a domestic and an import but because it's a race! I just like the race! lol!  

lol agreed but hey i've grown up a muscle car person goin to muscle car shows because thats what everyone in my area is in to and there is a whopping total of one skyline, a super clean absolutely beautiful R32, in my area and an amazing 0 supras so I guess i can't really compare. that being said anyone else no people that have a cobalt and think it's the fastest thing ever but lose to everything with a motor?

lol ya but its funny cause the one im talkin bout is chipped with the intake and exhaust done and he says its runnin 375hp. more like 175 but oh well
