Very cool and up to date up grade. I think that the wire harnesses change a little as do the style of the connectors. Beyond that, I don't think that there is much difference in motor and tranny mounts. I'm not too sure, though, so don't take my word as bible. I haven't done that particular swap before. I do know that the computer ( ecm, pcm, ecu or what ever Mitsubishi calls it) will need to be reflashed, if possible, to accept the new emmissions standards as well. There are more sensors and newer TSB codes that are present that the 94 ecm doesn't have. It may require you to get a new ECM to match the VIN and the engine for that. Such is the life of a tech... For emmissions requirement, all these things are checked for testing. Vin Sensor out put and function DLC connectivity As long as the testing machine sees every thing match and working, there wont be a non-compliant code. Been there... not fun. It's the life of a Connecticut emmissions inspector. Oh yeah, I am one! LOL! They don't do tail pipe probes on vehicles 96 and newer. It's all through the DLC (digital link connector), or OBDII connector, as some would call it. Laws differ from state to state as to the amount of carbon emmission that are allowed in the air. Over the years it has gotten even with all states across the board, though. The only rule of thumb to keep in mind is; 1) The engine going in has to be from the same manufacturer and same year or newer. In this case you're safe. 2) All emission requirements must be kept. Here is where you need to do all that I mentioned. I forget the third one... You can get that information through your local emissions site or DMV. They don't keep you from doing swaps but they do have their rules. Have fun with it and don't rush it. Haste makes waste and all that... Do a lot of research before starting this project. It will come in handy when you start the swap.
