im 17 and im looking for my first car....im also new to the tuner scene (a few months) and ive found a love for drifting...therefore for my first car im looking for a car with an FR platform..the problem is i live on the east coast and finding 240sx's are a bit scarce....i saw a few 300ZX's that i was interested in.. but when i thought about it, ive never seen sum1 drift with a 300ZX nor have i seen it in competition..
can someone shed some light on this situation?

im not sure if you still check this, BUT you can definitly drift a Z32, and even better a Z31. the Z32 has the power potential to be a drfit monster actually. the Z31 however needs to be built a bit on order to hold a decent line. I own both and amin the process of building the Z31 for stricly drift. Im in NJ BTW. anyways, if the Z32 is the one your after make sure you make yourself VERY aware that parts are EXTREMELY expensive and that the car is VERY heavy 3876 is what i weighed in at the track just the other day. So making enough power to rip it sideways and recover without losing it is a bit of technique to master. BUT it has been done. go to www.zcar.com and searh the 90-96 forum for member teamredlinez and the thread blood sweat and 3 years. there is one instance of an amateur drifter in a Z32. also the Z32 is a legitimate contender on the downhill drift in japan. But if you really want a light car with the aftermarket support go with the 240sx. If you want a head turning drift car go with the Z31 although it may be a bit tought trying to find go-fast parts

thanks for the advice turboz32..i was thinking about the 300zx for a while, but im considering the 240sx since it is lighter and i love the design... unfortunately if i dont get that ill be forced to begin my tuning career with a civic hatchback .. its still good but its an FF (a.k.a. wrong wheel drive)
