newer guy: need directions...here goes i know all the theory stuff about efi and pulse width per fuel metering mass air flow, etc. However i reasoned that for sequential port fuel injection, ie a single injector for each intake port, shouldn't the pulse width per injection event be the same (more or less) regardless of rpm since each cylinder gets filled with the same mass of air(moe or less)which is a function of engine capacity/displacement- which does not change

Wouldn't all that depend on how the sensors read the air mass and temp and altitude, ETC., ETC. GMC has a better explanation of how it functions and sorry about not posting it but it is leangthy and full of tech talk that is way beyond lamens terms to translate. The computer, or PCM if you preffer, dictates all that process and determines where all the fuel and air levels should be at any given moment on the load band. Again, considering air temp, mass, altitude, load range and the such. In a controlled atmousphere, such as in a garage, the car is only being tuned at idle with in a specific range and the PCM takes all that idle info modulates accordingly through the power band, load and so forth. That is a super light translation that I could understand. There is more but it has to do with soft ware and modules and connectivity and a whole list of other tech stuff... Any way, weren't you supposed to greet the new guy and say hello your self for being even newer? LOL!! Welcome to the forum guys. It gets better. Every one here is very cool.

I'm looking over this novel of techno babble and I now have a head ache... I can't make heads or tails of it now...
