I need/want a lot of help with the beggining stages of my car. Its a 1989 toyota supra 7m-Ge i wish there was a t in there) everything is completly stock but this car isnt a new born baby. 250k miles. I have done all the routine maintence and checks for it and assured my peice of mind but like everyone else i have a really bad addiction for power. I was looking into getting the breathing done right with a KnN cold air intake pacestter headers with a monza catbak exhaust. The air/fuel ratio is not at 14.7 i know its too lean or too rich, it feels like its taking to much gas but everything is stock and i dont know how to tune it without an adjs. fuel fegulator. Is there any other beginner path that would be better?

Easy fix but it will take some money. Rebuild the engine to accept the input of a turbo and install a turbo. Turbo powered cars are more fuel efficient than nonturbo cars, driving habits considered... Your car does have 200+ thousand miles on it, so it's most likely tired and in need of refreshing. That's why I suggested a rebuild! There are better headers for your ride than Pace Setter. Too pingy when exhaust goes through them... And the tornado thing is supposed to make the air go into the intake smoother but it's been debunked... it doesn't work as advertised.

Alright so ican pull a turbo out from another at a junkyard somewhere and refresh the engine to hold the added power. IN the process of this rebuild can the engine be bored out to a bigger displacement so i can run with bigger pistons stage 1 cams stage 1 stroker kit and a valvetrain rebuild? Would this be enogh? Does that cylinder refreshment can work pretty good for its price i forgot the name. im having a hard time finding any other header too i will check dynoflow or that oe soon. Thank you so much

I was looking around for another header kit on line for your car and MAN is there a lack of engenuity out there. It seems that the older your car gets the harder it is to find quality stuff. See if DC headers has a # where they can be reached from. Also check to see if you can get any one, besides PaceSetter, to give you an answer. Some one has got to have a base of opperations tel.# that they can be reached at. I wish I wrote that # down for the place in Florida!!!
Try this place out for your engine needs...www.raceenginedevelopement.com... You may need to give them info about your plans but it's well worth a shot so that you'll know exactly what you're getting into. They sleeve engines for certain applications. I've used them a couple of times for some heavy duty stuff and they pulled through for me. The engines that these particlar projects went into are still running after two and a half years. Not bad, if you ask me! It was a little wait while they performed the work but it was well worth it. Their tel.# is 760-630-0450. You will need to remove the engine and ship it to them, though.
Another thing, I know that money is tight but consider where you get your parts from. Junk yards are good for some things, like doors and axles and maybe some tail lenses if in good shape. When it comes to engines and accessory parts, like turbos and electrical stuff... you get what you pay for. At least you can rebuild an engine from the junk yard. Just trying to keep things in perspective for you. It's getting harder to do this as more info comes in for you, huh?

I can't remember if it was actually Dynomax exhaust! I hate to sound dumb on this but I really can't remember. I do remember talking to them and having heard them say that they were in Miami. They wanted to have my Rav for a few days to custom bend the system but I didn't have any vacation time and couldn't do it. I'm going to have to hunt online again to see if I can find it again, just to jog my memory.

I envy your age. So much more energy to do what you want... I feel your $ woes. I'm in a pinch as well with all the fuel costs and evry thing from milk to medicine going up and up and up! Finish school and get a life for your self in buisness or law or wall street or some thing so you don't suffer like all us older folk that never made wise descisions in life. I'm sure paying for it now. I have a nice house and 4 cars but MAN is it getting ever that much harder to keep up. I wish I studied as hard as some of nerdy friends in school. They are living the life I want.

WOW, a 92 prelude! I didn't think they exsisted any more! I haven't seen one in a while. If you want to do this, DeNecochea, the engine will need to be refreshed. I'm going to assume that you want to install a turbo. The age and mileage will hinder your chances of having a reliable build. Turbos put extra strains on engines that were never installed with one. If it came from the factory with out a turbo then rebuild it to suit the need. No half assing allowed in that department. I forget what engine is in that prelude so see if you can actually find any up grades to begin with. It's a Honda, so, hopefully there will be some thing for it. I don't know what part of the country your in to give you a place to visit on line or for you to call, but the internet has a whole slew of sites that ddeal with Hondas. There is no shortage of option for them.
Andrew, My buddy told me to relay this to you. Try some of the supra forums that are online. He got lucky with them by getting info for swap meets and such. He doesn't have his any more but said that it may help you get closer to your goal. He went European lover on me. LOL! It will require some leg work on your part but that it would more than likely pay off better in the long run. I've exhausted my end of searching. I'm sorta' hoping that this will help.
