okay here's my problem. I bought a 1987 VW GTI, and it came with bolt down harness belts. I was stoked and told my buddy, and he asked if it had some kind of "bar?" He said there needs to be ome kind of bar so you're back dosent arch and snap in a crash
Is this true?? How much would this cost and where could i find such a piece?

I'm wondering what he means by a "bar". Does he mean a rear brace for the belts behind the seat, like a roll bar type system?

sounds like the "bar" hes refering to is the one monkey was mentioning, if the harness is in the car i would assume that it has already been mounted properly, but since its custom it would probobly be wise to get some advice and check out the mounting for the harness yourself, it helps to be safe, its refreshing to see someone caring about their seatbelt, good man

You may want to consider going to an automotive sport tuning shop thaqt builds cars for racing and see if you can get better advice from some one who welds roll bars into cars to answer your question. With out seeing what you have no one can be truelly acurate in a solution for you.
