well, im new to the whole car scene but i know an exhaust makes a car sound good and adds some power. im just wondering if anyone would be able to help me find a good deep sounding cat back exhaust for my 2000 acura integra. the other thing i need to make sure is that it meets the legal decibal/sound levels which im pretty sure are 95db?.

You could shop around on the net and even call some of sites on their respective #s. Every product in that category will have specs, including decible out put. Make sure that you know exaxtly what the limits are in your city or state so you're not cought out in a mess with the law. Not that it's a major deal, but you don't want to get hung up on paying fines and removing what you paid hard money for. I've found that cat back exhausts are not as loud as long as you keep the stock exhaust manifold on the engine. A cold air intake also determines how loud your exhaust will sound, not to mention how the engine will sound. Again, it's not a major deal. Do some research first before jumping in.

tw1nturbo3gt is right. If possible, you should see about getting test result for that particular product. I know that it seems pointless to do it, considering the product info and all, but better safe than sorry. I've installed a couple of those systems and they are pretty loud, but the cars I installed it in were equipped with headers and had large diameter tubing, though. Headers do get the levels up a little higher than the product info for the cat back system suggests. These particular aspects of exhaust design will define how loud, or not, the exhaust will be. There are good free flow silencers available now that you could take advantage of if you still feel the need to get this sytsem. There are options but it will cost you a little. Just as an example, I installed a Bosal Bro-speed 2.5" cat back exhaust in my 97 Rav4. Every one that had experience with the sytsem told me that this particular exhaust was very loud. I installed it any way and when I heard how loud it was I was preety impressed with how nice the exhaust note was. Mind you, though, it still has the stock exhaust up to the cat back system. It wasn't that loud at all. After two to three months of use the metal seasons it self, so to speak, and the exhaust not changed... it was a little more noticeable than when it was new, but not by that much where it was annoying. A cold air intake changeed the note even more. Think about it and research a little more before jumping in.

Sorry. If it's a stainless system, Yes. All stainless system are of high quality and last longer than an exhaust from, let's say, Midas. They even last longer than the stock manufacturers units, depending on if you live on the coast or not. Salt air kills every thing on a car, fast! As far as sound quality, resonance, looks and the such? That depends on the style and look of your vehicle and how well your engine is running. It's all a matter of taste and your expectation, unfortunately, and as far as sound quality goes... you won't know until it's on your car and you can hear it for your self. The good thing is that even if the system sounds louder than what the product info suggests, there is still resonators and tuneable silencers that can be installed. I hope that this answers your question.

there's no need to install the whole cat back stainless steel big name brand exhaust system if ur car is not well equipped with all the high performance part. if ur engine is not tuned to the max ( cam, header, valve springs etc) then seriously ur cat back system won't give u that much more power and it's cost quite a bit too. if u just wanna keep most engine part stock then get 2.5 or 3 inches straight stainless steel pipe and a stainless steel magnaflow muffler, that system work as well as any name brand on the market but cost way cheaper not to mention they sound wonderful. not too loud to the point to get pulled over but not ricey and cheap alsot.
