You're calling a car that pretty much started the whole tuning, drifting And togue scene Garbage. You should be shot for that or something. Hachi-Roku FTW!!!!

ya its just an opinion. i didn`t mean their garbage, i meant they look like garbage but hey i kinda missed that part, my bad. i just mean that they look like any old corolla cruisin the streets gettin killed by everything in sight. I am completely aware of their history and i respect that. If you have one all the power to ya but i`ll take an r34 over it any day of the week.

An R34 is a different beast all together! LOL! I understand what you mean, though. The AE86s aren't the nicest looking cars in stock trim and they aren't the most powerfull in stock trim either. But when built correctly, power, looks and all, it's breath taking. LOL!

Whoa there, bud! Garbage? In what way, asked the old man to the computer programmer? LOL! The Skyline has had a history that rivals that of the Corvette, the Mustang and the Camaro. It was a race inspired vehicle from the onset, since the Fairlady company of Japan first bagan its production. We're talking almost 40 to 50+ years of designing and redesigning to get what we have in todays incarnation, that is the R35.( I could be wrong about why the first Skyline was made, but it still has a good racing history.) They may have not had the extreme power of recent models, but to say that they are garbage is kinda closed minded. Give me a 1968 Fairlady Skyline, any day. I'll even take a 88 Skyline, any day. A Skyline is a Skyline, no matter what the year.
40 to 50 years from now, some one will make the same comment as yours about the EVO and you'll have the same response as mine. Don't knock heritage because it isn't good looking or as powerful as the recent incarnation. It's the end result of all the popularity that it's gotten over the years. If it wasn't for all those pre-GODZILLA Skylines, the ones we know and love now wouldn't have been honored with the GODZILLA nick name. You have your oppinion and I won't take that from you, but you have to understand why the Skyline is what it is today. The same goes for any imported car that has equal fame, like the Skyline.

well you know I would admit there were some pretty "garbage" Evo's like #4, When you consider the progress made from the 4th gen to 6th you wonder what the hell they even had the 4th for.

I think it has more to do with the market and considering all the issue with the economy, over the past 8 years, things had to be done a certain way to improve or either save them some money. Bushs' non-exsistant economic plans have wreaked havoc on the economy. It forces companies to do what they must, unfortunately. But I wouldn't exactly call The #4 EVO garbage. It had its promise, though not apparent at the time. LOL! That's why they called it the EVOlution. LOL!
A good example is with Chrysler, in keeping with company decisions. Though talks have ended between GM and chrysler about a merger/take over, it still means that people will lose jobs, which adds to the ever increasing delemma of the economy. Things have been getting worse and worse. All of you know that Ford sold LandRover and Jaguar to Ta-Ta motors of India. Oh well, Ta-Ta to them. ") They were losing all sorts of cash on those two makes, hense the sale.
GM has concentrated sales efforts in China, due to that countries' economic boom. The U.S. is slowly choking on its own economic vomit, or lack there of. I'm playing the wait and see approach with our new president elect, to see how things pan out. Bush still has power till January. That's when he turns over the White House keys to Obama.
In a sense, though, you are right, miamito. They could have had some better options for the vehicles that you mentioned. I wouldn't, again, classify them as garbage, though. As my Jamaican brothers would say; Evry ting has its flow, mon. One day ada time.
I'm not Jamaican, I'm Puerto Rican. I grew up with these particular Jamaican friends and we treat each other like family. All our moms and dads know each other well and acts like a family should. I wish the rest of the world would do that. Oh well.

GM does make a decent product, though. It's too bad that they can't do much about the lowering economic status. The Chinese industry is killing us at our own game. The only problem is that every thing they are making isn't even in the same ligue as ours, in quality. The Japanese beat the Chinese products by leaps and bounds. My shop is selling some scooters that are made in China. They are called EuroSpeed. LOL! Euro-WHAT, you ask? EuroSpeed... They look like reverse engineered Vespa scooters. They fall apart, oh, so easily. I laugh when I see the tech that has to fix them right out of the box. You heard right, FIX THEM RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. Funny, isn't it? Any way, this company is trying to make cars, too. I saw a flyer with some of the proposed models to come to the states and the look like cross breed Fords, Suzukis and Hyundai. I saw one that had the rear of a Toyota Highlander and the front of a Ford Escape! I think you get what I mean. The chinese are only good for redoing what is already out. I love the Chinese culture and its people. I'm very seriuos about that, but when it comes to the quality of the products that come from there... Let me just say that America needs to fix its own quality issues before having another country ship in their garbage with even bigger quality issues. that's all. Miamito, I hear what you mean, and I understand completely what you are saying, but nothing can compare to our products. As long as we have jobs here in the states to work on that. You know? LOL!
