If your only choices are between Mitsubishi and Honda then it's all a matter of your taste, no pun intended! A little foot work will be needed on your part to get as much info on the models you are looking at. You know, the pros and cons and the style, ease of finding parts (not that that's an issue with these two car companies). In the end, really, it's about your needs and wether or not it will fit you. It will be you in the car the most. Evert thing else will be icing on the cake once you make up your mind on what you want.

Oh, almost forgot! since it is your money, you will have to determine if the car is worth getting and building within your budget, assuming you have a budget that you're going by... If you love what you are planning to get then the money you spend wont be too much of an issue. Again, it comes down to the pros and cons to determine that. The advice is general but I hope it helps.

You can't go wrong with a GSX. They are great cars, and will teach you how to be a mechanic pretty quick.
It really depends on what your budget looks like, and what you are wanting the car to do. If you want to go fast, you'll get upset with FWD very quickly, especially with an open differential.
Really need more information before I can suggest anything to you.

It's like suggesting food, dude! You can eat what's recommended but you may not like it. That's where testing and trying comes in. 10K is more than enought to get a decent ride... it's all about what fits you at this point. No one can suggest some thing to you based on their likes or dislikes. ONE persons likes could be anothers dislike. You know what I mean? No one can actually choose for you what could be a not so good car for you. It's "window shop" time for you... Sorry!

Before I forget to mention... I used to have this preconceived notion about Mitsubishi and upon test driving some of their cars found them to be quite inspiring. I have respect for the way it feels and drives and the amount of pep that they have. But again, that is only my oppinion. Yours may differ. Toyota is another likely candidate for you. Good quality and fuel economy. I have two that are used on the daily.... A 250hp awd Rav4 and an 04 Seinna done up a little. Nothing magor, the wife drives that one. Don't want her to kill her self! Things to consider, though! You really should shop around and test some cars first before commiting, though.

Blackmonkey is right when he says it's up to you to choose. Go drive some cars, and see which you like. You won't learn near as much on here as you will out in the real world dealing with the cars in person.
There will always be someone online that will say a car is awesome, one who will claim the car is a pile of trash, and 10 others to say something else.

personally i would go with the integra type r the b18c5 is a good motor reliable and can be made fast easily. same with the civic si's b16. either one of those will keep up with if not beat a factory gsx. plus eclipses are only good for about 130k miles
