Do you have less respect for kids/wives/whatever who didn't necessarily earn their car the way most of us do - by paying for it ourselves?
I mean, technically they had to do something for it. Be it pleasuring a rich old guy, so you can have that nice Jaguar parked in his multi-car stable, or enduring the hollow existance of being a tax write off for your dad and his wife, who could pass for your barely-legal sister, they probably had to do something to "earn" their car. What about the kid next door who got a brand new Twin Turbo Supra while you got stuck with the hand me down, beat-up old Honda Civic, or your friend at school who got his dads Stingray after he bought his new Shelby, and you had to work at McDonalds for three years so you could save up enough money to get that "fixer upper" Neon you had your eyes on?

I have less respect for people who were handed stuff and don't appreciate it. Like I sort of got stuff handed to me, but my parents did it in a way so that I would value and appreciate what they gave me. I mean I see rich kids out there tossing money around, having no respect for their stuff because they're rich and can get a new one.

I also have less respect for those who obtained their cars without working for them. When you see a rich 18 year old driving his BMW M3 that his parents bought for him on his birthday, how can you not lose respect for that person? To them is is more of a status symble so that they can fit in with the other rich kids in their neighborhood. They will never appreciate it as much as the kid who worked 2 jobs to be able to purchase his used sub $10,000 sport compact, and now no longer has to catch the bus to school and work.
I am the oldest of 6 kids who grew up in a poor family and every single one of us truly appreciates and understands the value of a dollar. Yes I do waste stupid ammounts of money on my car but it's my work of art that I bought and built myself. No mommy or daddy or other rich relatives to help out.
Sure there are young people who bust their arses to purchase their high end cars and those are the people I truely respect, because if anything happened to their cars, they would be just as broken up as I would be if something happened to my car. Unlike the rich kids who just have to ask for another car from their parents.
That's just my opinion though.

my parents got me a car. Yeah, it's free. Except for gas, insurance, maintenance and anything else I can think of. I have to work for all that. I respect my car, because I know it's all I've got. No it's not nice, it's a '98 Camry. I admit that, but I'd be crushed if anything happened to it because I know that it's all I've got.

Youngest of 3 kids. And not that doesnt mean the spoiled one! It means the family is poor after paying for the other 2 so i get screwed lol.
And im with yall. I have very little respect for kids whos parents buy them stuff. Ive been working since i was 9 for all that i have. Only good thing about spoiled brats is that they dont know how to drive which makes for great kill storys.. Like nick hogan and his supra lol.. Or a guy that runs around my town in a porche boxter with...neons... yea.. lol.

I've paid for my last three cars. My very first car (a Ford Contour) my mom went in half with me for it. But my Civic (R.I.P) that my ex-roomate rolled and killed. My Mustang (which will forever be my baby) and now my dinky lil dodge Colt (which hauls balls) I worked (at McDonalds ironicly, or gas stations or steak houses) to buy.
But what really pisses me off, isn't even the rich kids with BMW's or EVO's (like the FIVE Yellow EVO 7's in my area. All driven by kids under the age of 21) that get their *** handed to them by mom and day, what really pisses me off is the people who get their *** handed to them but claim they worked so hard for it, and claim they spent so much money and so much time on their white 2 door automatic Chevy Cavalier with a body kit that doesn't fit, a horrible sounding fart can and a SPRAY PAINTED "Carbon Fiber" hood with a scoop. *** actually claims his spray paint is carbon fiber.

Yeah it bothers me when young kids get a car for free and drive around like they're all cool and that. I used to drive my moms Chevy Corsica to school when she had the day off. I didn't get my first car 'til I was 19 and working at Wal-mart and it was an 82 prelude for $1500. Now I'm 28 and have a 99 Civic Si that I wanted 9 years ago. I still can't get what I really wanted, a RSX or 07 Si cause now I live on my own and have bills to pay.

i've been working since 14, and bought my own stuff since then. all the cars i've owned i bought myself. i even bought cars for my OLDER brother, but he doesnt appreciate them. i think the ones that urk me the most are the ones who's mommy and daddy buys them a super nice car, pays for the parts and labor to get it hooked up, and run around bragging about it like they bought it/ built it/ or earned it themselves. I mean sure it'd be nice to have someone give you a car, but i think its nicer when i pay for my own, then i feel i earned it and i dont owe anyone for it!
