My name is Jeff and I live in Canada.  I have been wanting to import a 93 RX-7 from Japan for a while and I found this company called Japan Auto Direct in Tokyo.  Anybody heard of them??  Anyway, when I was looking at their website www.japanautodirect.com they had tons of RX-7s on their site with most already having loads of mods.  Does anybody know what the taxes and customs for import cars are or has anybody done any imports themselves??  Any info or advice would be cool

It is going to cost you some cash and will depend on where in Canada you live to ship, you know... via ship, plane or ground. It will also depend on who facilitates the shipping company. I ship to the Carribean out of Miami, Fl. my self through the various companies that are there, it's cheaper than shipping out of N.Y. for me.
Seriously consider the cost and wether or not it is better just to buy a little closer. For the cost of buying and shipping from Japan you could fabricate and/or retro fit a right hand drive system for the same cost on one that is closer to you. But if you have the money you could do what you want.
There are plenty of innovative shops that would cater to your needs, assuming you go that far with a build. What we get here in the main land is nothing more than left hand versions of what is in Japan. Price out a conversion and see what is more cost effective for you. It will be difficult but not impossible. It will all depend on what you are willing spend and the limits of your imagination.  

Where do you live? I live in Edmonton Alberta. There is a web site for I guy here who imports cars like RX-7s, Fairladies and Skylines. It's 4Kruzin.com and they all sell for 10,000 to 15,000. If you find someone who has already taken care of the importing and buy the car off them it would save alot of trouble. Or just by a US RX-7 and to a JDM engine swap.

Well i think you will pay almost the same price of the car coz when i shipped some Tailgateand Parking Light for my truck i payed more than i expected
