A good CANDEDENT would be the new C-Class or pretty much anything that isn't made by Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi or Nissan.

just find an old lexus, seems that's what everyone does, you co8uld get a 94 gs for about 8,000, and if ur civic is newer you could sell it for some pretty chunky money

I used to work for a Cadillac dealership... that CTS-V is nothing to skoff at. It's classy, sporty and powerful! For what it is, it's a good buy.
If going domestic is not your cup of tea, then look for the power houses that Nissan and Toyota make, if you can get one in good shape and cheap. ( 300Z or a G series or even a Supra or an IS300) It was just a thought...
