Hey, My name is Jeff and I drive something some of you may not see everyday, It is a 1989 Nissan 300ZX Z31...hence my name, It is a very clean little car it has a 3.0L V6 VG30...soon to be A VG30ET, this summer I will be performing an engine build. I have pics of the turbo and some of the car (they are not recent) as of now she is safely stored away for the winter...I will get more recent pics when I get the oppurtunity. I also would like to know how I could get my car featured....yeah its a long shot but I know some people who have been wondering why there are no Z31's in the latest issue...now mine isnt the best but it is very clean and has no rust, so who knows...maybe I have a shot?....
anyway...on with the pics!! (and yes...I know the turbo is backwards ) Enjoy

Cool ride! Haven't seen one of those in a bit. Your close up shot of the engine bay and side shot show a need for improvement in asthetics. Magazine shot opportunities would be cool, 'cause there aren't many cover stories about this particular "Z". A little glitz and restoring it to it's original glory would go a long way in getting it in a magazine shoot, I would think. Maybe not too perfect but at least getting it cleaner would most likely help more. The interior also could use an up grade as well. Don't get me wrong, dude, I do like the car but I've seen magazine shots of cars and if Super Street magazine isn't an education of what's expected for a cover shot, then you may as well hang up that dream for a while until you can get there. It takes a little bit of cash to make some thing happen and get it to it's full potential. Keep it up, though, 'cause I would like to see it there!

Two years ago, it was my last trip to Spain, I saw two 300Zs with Euro ground effect kits installed on them. They looked pretty intense and knowing how they build cars there they were very powerful as well. And the way they took off said every thing to me. They were awsome, indeed! I would look into some thing like that. The lines are a lot smoother and classy than what you see on those internet sites. Clean is what your Z would look good in... although, it is just my oppinion. I know that your Z is strapped for space under the hood as well... if you plan on more power with a different power plant, you might consider an RB engine... again, it's just my oppinion. There are many ways to get what you want with that body style! It is a cool car! Knowing that there are not too many that are seen around makes it that much more intising!

Well, for the price of an RB swap and build I could have a badass VG30. I have come across this thought many times but I have recently purchased my turbo and other parts that are going to be put into it this summer as I am building her up. My goal is a whopping 500HP.

That is impressive! Can't blame you for wanting to keep what's in there for a build. Hope to see you soon on a magazine cover!!! Don't let any one take you from your goals. From one NISMO lover to another... keep it strong!!!

Yeah, I have also found me a lipkit for it. I will definately put hours of work into this thing for a magazine shoot, which brings me to my next question....Assuming I got a photo shoot opportunity where and how would it all go down? would I have to go somewhere? or would they come to where I live?

I couldn't help you there... but DYonehara works there, at Super Street, and he frequently posts on this forum when he has nothing else to do at work. He would most likely be a better candidate to answer that question. I will be looking for that answer my self, 'cause if I survive my racing event in Puerto Rico this summer with my RB26DETT powered 1987 200sx I will be wanting the same thing for my car. Hey DYonehara, if you're reading this thread give us an answer. Any way, I'm still a bit away from finishing my car and my techs are busy with other projects so things get backed up a bit when dealing with customer rides. They are more important, at this time, than my needs.
