Why are these poor cars in such deplorable shape? They are nice to restore... but who in todays economy would try to? I still think you'de have a better chance of selling some thing if it were a Japanese import.

I wouldn't even pay $200 for this car.

You should check out the other 3 cars that were posted as for sale on this forum by tinascars!!! Talk about poor!!! Any body that would be interested in restoring one of those poor cars would find it harder just to find the original parts so that it would keep some of the value!! Old Japanese cars have more value due to the few numbers that exsist. If she were selling an old 510 body or any old Japanese car body then maybe there would be a more serious crowd around the cars on this forum. Sorry tina, wrong forum to post those cars!!

Generally I agree with you Blackmonkey but here you are gravely mistaken. Restored American Muscles go for way more than old Japanese cars, at least they do so here in the U.S. It isnt about fuel economy, its about the classic nature of the vehicle. Turn to Speed channel and watch the Barrett Jackson car auctions, they routinely sell those old Corvettes for up to $30,000 and that specific model is not all that rare. A 510 is a great car, but they are commonly used as taxis in my native country and can be had for $4,000 in good condition. Although I will agree that she is definitely posting these in the wrong forum, should hit up an American muscle site.

Have you seen what a 71 240Z goes for? Last one I saw went for $100,000! The last auction I went to that had a late 60s Skyline went for $92,000! A Mazda Cosmo with the rotary engine, in pristene condition, $58,000! I don't know about you but the harder to find old japanese cars do sell for a lot when restored to their original glory. much like American cars. The only advantage that old American muscle cars have is that they were made with better materials than the Japanese cars of thet same period. So, generally you would find more of them than imports of the same period. If it's hard to find, in my book, then it's worth more. I'm not putting down American muscle cars at all! Don't misunderstand me at all... it's just that with the American cars it's always the Chevelles, Corvetts, GTOs... At times you see the real old ones from the 20s and 30s, which in my eyes are real gems! I don't know, maybe I'm bias towards imports and all, but as far as I'm concerned the history of imports has a fascinating story, much as American cars, and I appreciate it, as well, if only for how they struggled to get notariety for their vehicles world wide. It is just amazing to see the progress they have made, to date, and how they are taking over the industry little by little!
