Your posts are downright hilarious....

I don't even know how to respond to the stupidity that you radiate even through words on the internet.

You can't even understand the concept that 2 vehicles could have IDENTICAL hp and and IDENTICAL weight, but one could beat the other in a race.

There's a lot more involved than weight and hp. Of course your tiny little brain can't comprehend that though.

I try to please the crowds, BOOsted. Comedy is an art best left to professionals! AANNDD... you still missed what I was saying due to your lack of reading and comprehending. I do agree with you on what you've said, though. It's a toss up when every thing is even but thatwas never the argument when this thread was posted. If you were reading as you say. Again, WHAT?
Keep reading and try to understand 'cause now you sound like a middle school student who can't pay attention in class. Maybe you should consider a LANGUAGE ARTS class at a local night school, or some thing! Now you do sound like civic.slow...

And blackmonkey..

This is completely wrong.

A post from you.
"To save weight you might want to consider an electronic timer for the turbo to eliminate some lag time. A combo super charger and turbo sound exotic but the charger will rob you of top end power due"

Let's just start with the first part. An electronic turbo timer keeps the car running after you drive and turn it off to help "cool" down the engine to stop coking from occuring in the turbos.

Why would that have anything to do with weight savings or reducing lag time with the turbo. A turbo timer cannot improve spool.

You're right, I flubbed. I was thinking faster than I can type and the info didn't come out making sense. I confused a turbo timer with an engine management system. Sorry and thank you for the correction. I was wondering when you would find that. Took you long enough. No prob, I know when to give props when props is due. You got me there. Honest mistake! You see how civil things can get with out the attacks. I'm cool but not perfect. I'll take correction when I'm wrong. Since you did it with respect I responded like wise. Keep that up and I'll make you my good friend and back you up in a fight!lol!!!

Man...you guys are waaayyy out in left field.
But that's why I'm here....to bring you all back to Earth.

Firstly to correct b00sted: There IS a car that will best the C6 Z06 around a track and it's called the Nissan GT-R R35. Thing is a fuggin BEAST!

Also, a muscle car is not just a car from the 60s and 70s.
Anything with a powerful/moddable motor, RWD, and tire-roasting torque, specifically made for the 1320 is a muscle car.
ALL these new Camaros, Challengers, and Chargers are considered muscle cars...cuz they sure as hell aren't economy cars.
rofl

Heck, I guess you could consider the supra a "japanese muscle car"....i mean, its made for high hp anf weighs almost as much as the old detroit iron.
haha

Anyways, once you guys get older, it becomes easier to respect imports AND domestics for what they are...and not fall into one category, only to have disdain and contempt for all owners of the other.

The exception being Vette owners....

Vette owners are douchebags, all of em.

ok first how old is that chevelle SS I bet a 1983 Nissan Maxima handles like *** to until you upgrade it. I just bought a new Acura TL yes it’s the 3.5L BECAUSE THATS THE BIGGEST ENGINE THEY HAVE TO OFFER FOR IT! I love the car for its worth BUT it can’t compare to a new Mustangs power (handling not sure yet I am still comparing the two). I believe it was on Speed TV about 8 months ago where it had A New Corvette, Mustang, G35, an old Charger, and some other cars compete against each other on different courses. For the love of G*D I cannot remember the name of the TV show or if it was even on SPEED TV but the Corvette came out on top majority of the time or at least the times I watched. Even on the courses where the imports were supposed to come out on top the corvette outperformed the imports on the show. I believe the driver in the g35 was a known drifter/racer. I know it takes a lot more to get power from an import than a domestic not saying it makes domestics better in any way but you can’t compare apples to oranges haha sorry long day just cutting it short. I’m not trying to take anything out on you this post is for everyone who reads it. I will try to return tomorrow and reply to the other posts on here!

I still can't get over the fact that the dude on the first page said a Chevy Cobalt SS has a V6. lol. Sorry..Cobalt has always had a 4 cylinder. At least next year they're putting on a turbo rather than a supercharger.

As far as the argument goes, why does there have to be any mention of fist-fighting? You know you guys are never going to fist fight, you're just going to sit on the computer and *** at each other.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching your spat, but there will be no fist-fighting so let's lose the drama. Winning an unwinnable argument will not change any of the cars anyway. Muscle cars are great and have their strengths and imports as well. Unless they are stock, either car can be built ultimately to be good at other things as well. Im sure someone could build a damn mustang that will corner better than all of our imports. Just need a shitload of money and skill. Ultimately, domestic cars are not shitty...they are a huge part of the history of the automobile and will be long revered as the greatest thing to hit pavement (by some). Might as well get used to it monkey...with all due respect.

I've been reading some of this stuff so that I can salvage what reputation i have and move on with my life. My name is Frank Soberal and if any one has been responding to this thread, I appoligise for the remarks made in my name, or nickname as it were! The person that all of you have been talking to is not me, the genuine BlackMonkey. I live in Seymour Ct. in the Naugatuck Valley region of New Haven county. The person that was using my nick name is in Florida and is currently unaware that I have found this lie of his on this forum. I am sorry for any misinformation or misleading events that may have been spewed by this family member of mine but believe me when i tell you that it will be dealt with when he returns from his little vacation. I have posted a new thread explaining a little of who I AM and, if possible, correct any thing that Jose, my cousin, has said in false pretense! Again I am sorry!

Who knows! I'm trying to review all the posts as fast as I can to salvage what reputation I have left. If I could get my hands on him right now I would... If it's kosher, I'll post the beating on this forum so that all can laugh at his stupidity!!!! So says me, Frank Soberal, the GENUINE BLACKMONKEY!!!! The clock is ticking for my cousin!

Hello.
New here.
There are some sad biased comments here.
As a lover of all types of automobiles, I have a problem.

We own and work on all types of cars. From a real mean nissan 240 to a serious kick ass land rover defender 90, to a tire eating C6.

It would be silly to classify the owners of corvettes. There are several of us that enjoy the car for its performance and nothing more. It would be a moot point to argue the fact that the corvette is the best performing car in the world in stock form that is available for under $45,000. With a weight of only about 3100lbs. the car is quite a performer in a straight line but specifically going around corners. Ours running only 7psi boost with a stock motor makes almost 600rwhp and is quiet, idles like factory, is docile to say the least, maintains 27mpg on the highway, doesn't break. It will run this way for probably 100,000 miles with no real drivetrain issues except for maybe a clutch. There is something to be said for that technology. Although it wasn't built for it, it will run in the tens on the strip on road tires and eat just about everything on a road course. All of this with just a weekend bolt on.

Another misconception is that HP actually means something. If two cars weigh the same and have the same hp, they are just as fast, right?
Wrong.
Where are they making the hp and torque. What rpm range do they make the hp and torque at? How long is the curve sustained?
What gearing to pt it to the ground?

There are unbelievably fast cars on both sides of the fence. Both have advantages and disadvantages.
A lot of uninformed folks spewing out their keyboards here.

well sure but look at most of the people who like v8 muscle cars there generally older  and to be honest most people who have a money into a v8 arent interested in road racing, because those are for speed.  and if they have the same horse power unless its a RWD vs. RWD than it has a chance but these hondas dont really have a chance  not saying they dont but its rare.....your source is weak  bro so is your point  besides who the *** cares its the rider not the ride

"It would be silly to classify the owners of corvettes. There are several of us that enjoy the car for its performance and nothing more"

Not really...every Vette owner I've ever met is a complete dickwad.
They are either old guys that have no idea what they are driving, and they usually lack knowledge when it comes to the tech side of things...or old guys that can't see outside the box and have no respect for anything outside their little Chevy Box that's not made in a Chevy factory.
Usually both types of Vette owners are either in mid-life crisis, or trying to compensate for something else.

They are especially resentful of import cars with less displacement that would destroy their little sh!tbox Corvettes on the street.

Just my 2 cents.
